Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Dale Beaumont Smith. I was born and raised in San Diego, California. I'm 68, enjoy hiking and geneology. Most of my family research has been through my father Larry C. Smith and his ancestors from Kentucky, Missouri and Moweaqua, Illinois; Smiths, Williams, Beaumonts Gordens and Adams. Ellington Adams was an early settler in the Moweaqua, Illinois area and is my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather. James Smith, my Great-Great Grandfather, was an early settler in Oconee, Illinois. On my mother's side; Verburg and Stiles are the main families, mostly from Kalamazoo, Michigan and Indiana.

Aunt Jennie Auwers
I do have a photo of Jennie - on the back in my grandmother's handwriting it says "Aunt Jennie Auwers" - I had a hunch that I had seen it when looking through my mom's photos quite some time ago - mom passed in 2002.
I will scan it and remove some of the minor spots in photoshop as soon as it cools down enough to sit at my desktop computer and complete the task - it has been exceptionally hot here which is most unusual. I mostly use my iPad on a daily basis.

RE: Jannette Verburg Auwers
Thank you so very much - I think I might have a photo of her - will check and see. I remember my grandmother's favorite aunt being Aunt Jennie but that is all I remember. I have photos from my mom that I have not had time to put in new albums which are acid and lignin free for preservation - need to do that soon as I am not getting any younger.
Thanks again for your courtesies Dale.

Dale I checked With San Fernando Cemetery (210-432-2364) They only have her son and wife listed. I checked with Mission park North (210-698-5252)and they checked entire data base for all four Mission park Cemetery in San Antonio without any success. I will keep my eyes out when I am at the cemetery in the future just in case I ever come across it. Sorry I couldn't help more.

RE: Jannette Verburg Auwers
I found the death certifcate and it does have Mission burial Park listed. They have four different cemetery but are all run by the same company. They have no listing in any. Our only hope now is to check San Fernando cemetery where her son and wife are buried. Their office is closed till Monday. Thanks for your help.

Jannette Verburg Auwers
Do you know where you got the information that Jannetje Verburg Auwers was buried at Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio, Texas. Their office has no record of her being buried their. I am trying to fill a photo request by a family member.

RE: Jannette Verburg Auwers
Thank you so very much - sincerely appreciated.
I did find recently that she was buried in Texas but had not pursued it further - was delaying until cooler weather (smile)

Thanks again,
M. King

P.S. my maternal great grandmother, Mary Verburg/Verberg marr. Cornelius Christian, and was sister to the Mayor of Kalamazoo. My mom had a tintype photo of Mary - she was very beautiful.

I guess at my age genealogy should never be delayed (smile)
