John Plummer Pic
Hi, Jen,
I noticed you placed a great pic on John and Lucille Thompson Plummers' memorials. Just wondered if you were any relation to them? I descend from John's oldest sister Goldie Plummer Bruns. She was my great grandmother.

Many thanks for adding this stone to previously unmarked graves!

Recently, I have been in contact with the manager of this memorial, who added a photo of the new stone and wondered where it came from. If you have any obit/bio info, the manager would be delighted to add it to the memorial - just use "suggest an edit".

Thank you again for honoring our ancestors!

Courtland Hogue
Hi Jen,
You recently added a photo of the cemetery monument for Courtland Hogue. Thank you very much for doing so.

His memorial says the inscription reads "Son of Charles & Hannah; Age: 7y,10m,2d". I wonder whether you remember this memorial. Could the inscription possibly have said 17y rather than 7y? I can find him on the 1870 and 1880 US Census with an approximate birth date of 1863-64.

Any help you can provide about the inscription would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jen,
Thank you for your response. The photo of the monument made it look like the etching was rather unreadable, but I was just hoping.
Thank you again for your photo.

Jen, thank you so much for taking all the photos of the Eaman family tombstones. I would love a photo of the Eaman road sign; they must have been a prominent family to have a road named after them. Carolyn

RE: William Collins
Thanks... I'm sure it's the same. They must of mis-indexed "0" for "9", couldn't read the stone. Please post and thanks again.

RE: George Robison, Oakridge Cemetery
Hi Jen -

How delightful to hear from you! Unfortunately, I know almost nothing about George Robison. His mother, Lucy Sims Robison, was the daughter of one of Springfield's earliest settlers - John Sims. John was 1st cousin to my 4-great grandfather, William Sims, also an early settler.

For over a decade, I have been trying to unravel this extensive Sims/Simms family. Always, I hope to meet cousins, like you/your husband, who might have family stories or information to break through the brick wall of finding the parents of William Sims. William's parents would be the grandparents of your husband's ancestor, John Simms.

Also, despite years of research, I have yet to identify the name of John's father (brother to my William), nor the name of his mother. My William's brother, James, appears to have raised John from John's early teen years.

All that being said, I just did a quick search for an Illinois marriage record for George Robison and Hattie Littrell and came up empty. Is it possible that Hattie was George's 2nd wife, married after 1900 or outside of Illinois?

Please feel free to email me directly (email on my Find A Grave page). I am happy to share my info on the Sims/Simms family, and will help as best I can with your search for Hattie. Always enjoy meeting cousins, no matter how distant!
