RE: Frederick Ackley
Hi Steve,

I'd be happy to take it over, thanks. Since I just joined, I've no idea how to do things i.e. post changes, but I guess I'll find out. If there's anything you can pass on, please let me know.

thanks again

RE: Matilda Franklin Clark-photo request
It does say that she is there in this cemetery, they just do not know where. If someone ever takes every photo they may find her or as you say it could be overgrown as that could easily happen there, or it could have been unmarked. I do not live here and am just travelling. If I ever get back next year I may take more photos. Maybe she will be found. Good Luck.

Steve, What makes you think she is buried at this cemetery? She is not listed on their grave locator. I called the cemetery and they did not find her. If you are sure she is there, may I suggest you call the cemetery and get a burial plot so we can get this photo for you. James

Donald Kimbell
Thomas J. Franklin, Cooper's Well Cemetery
Mr. Franklin, I am responding to your request for a pic of the headstone of Thomas J. Franklin, Pvt. Co. C, 27th Louisiana Infantry. There were 45+ soldiers buried at Cooper's Well. Headstones for these mem were in storage and were to be placed at some point in time. However, the new landowner refused permission to place the stones at the actual burial site. The stones are to be transported from their storage site and eventually placed in the Confederate Cemetery in Vicksburg. That will take place Saturday, 28 May 2016, only 2 days away. There will be a brief memorial service at the park. At a later date, when the stones are officially placed, the Louisiana and Mississippi Divisions will conduct a joint memorial service for these men. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 318-245-3401.
Donald Kimbell, Lt. Commander
Louisiana Division
Sons of Confederate Veterans

Thank you for the information. I added it to the memorial.

Is this a relative? Would you like for me to transfer the memorial to you? I added the information for Stice Cemetery from a book I got at the Warren County Genealogical Society. I just did it as a courtesy for those doing research. If you would like for me to transfer the memorial, I would be more than happy to do so.

RE: Jeremiah Franklin
The only documentation I have is what my cousin has at Ancestry. Our aunt was a genealogist and found a lot of info back in the 1980's wrote and published a few books. She was never on the internet. Some of us carried on her work for our own personal records and I have not gotten that much past Jeremiah except for what my aunt already had.
At Ancestry a few cousins has a lot more and many documents are listed.
Lawrence Franklin
Birth• Spotsylvania, Spotsylvania, Virginia,
Death• Orange, Virginia

This is the Lawrence they have who is a half brother to Benjamin Franklin and their father Josiah was the immigrant. If you are on Ancestry you may write me at and I can send you my cousin's public tree name for you to look up her info.

RE: John Foust Santa Fe
I can check with the office at the Rosario Cemetery next door to SFNC the next time I am out that way.

John Foust Santa Fe
I took the picture of John's headstone today, but his wife is not listed on the headstone, and when I checked VA records they have no record of her burial at SFNC.

Hello. I just added a photo of Mr Franklin's tombstone but I did not see the note to add his wife and son's tombstone. Please add photo requests for them to remind me to get those photos and I will try to stop by there soon and get the photos. I don't live too far away and will try to get back by there.
