Emma L Brady
Hello Ronald,

I know you likely won't remember but we talked about Emma L Brady's memorial back in 2013. There is a minor problem with this memorial. Thomas Patrick Brady, did indeed marry a woman named Emma L. The Emma La Velle, who married a Thomas Brady in Maryville, Missouri in 1912 actually married Thomas James Brady, who died in 1949 and is buried in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Thomas James Brady and Emma LaVelle Brady divorced in 1918. One of her descendants sent me a photo of the divorce record today. The Emma L. who married Thomas Patrick Brady was married to Thomas Patrick Brady when he died.

Thank you,

Robert A. Hilleman

Noting your 2015 message to Jan about memorial transfer, this does not appear to have happened. Jan may no longer be as actively involved with Find A Grave; at least edit suggestions seem postponed until automatic processing. Robert A. Hillemann was my grandfather Gustav's brother. As I share a substantial amount of DNA with Robert, arguably I have even a better claim to request transfer, but see no reason as long as edits are eventually processed. Recently I submitted GPS readings for Robert Hilleman, as well as some of the others in the Eisleben Lutheran Church cemetery, although with the nice posted grave directory, this is really not needed.

Nathan Tomlinson
I searched the Starr Cemetery which is out in the country from Alexandria, Indiana. I found several Tomlinson's but not Nathan. Some of the stones are very old and can't be read. I did search the web and came across a Nathan Tomlinson buried in another cemetery here in Alexandria. This Nathan was born 10-26-1817 in Rowan Co North Carolina and died in Madison Co Indiana 05-27-1890. His mother was Elizabeth, Father William, sisters, Nancy, Mary Ann, and a brother Francis. Could this be the same Nathan with the wrong cemetery listed?

You created a memorial for a woman who is very much alive. She is a long-time friend of my wife and I and is currently operating a fantastic restaurant about 20 miles NE of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Please remove her memorial. Thank you.

RE: Lucy A Steiger Edits
I believe I said, and it's been a few years ago, that she (my great grandmother) was a descendant of seven Mayflower passengers. Two of them I was wrong about - I got ahold of some disproven information. I wish I could change that on the memorial! The first passenger is John Howland. I'm a member of the Mayflower Society under him, so he is approved. The rest are his wife Elizabeth Tilley, her parents, John Tilley and Joan Hurst Rogers Tilley. They were all passengers. The fifth is George Soule. The Mayflower Society has records for four more generations descending from each passenger. George Soule branches out from John Howland in those generations, so there is no question about him being an ancestor of Lucy. In case I've sounded confusing, the ones that are our ancestors are:

John Howland
Elizabeth Tilley
John Tilley
Joan Hurst Rogers Tilley
George Soule

I don't know what the block is that you asked about. I've learned genealogy by doing, so I'm sure I have some learning gaps!

I so wish I'd found out all this before she died! Please contact me if you need anything else. Thank you for wanting to honor her!

Ronals, I also like to walk cemeteries and adding photos to Find A Grave. With golf season over I have started back on my fall/winter projects. I see that you and Claire do this also. I don't want to get in anybodies way. So let me know if I become a nuisance. Thanks, Joe Lerch

Lana Seeger
Ronald, you added a memorial #125011448 for Lana Seeger on 11 Feb 2014. Lana Seeger has not passed yet. The rules for Find A Grave state that memorials should not be added for individuals that are still living. Thanks,

Charles Seeger
Ronald, You added a duplicate memorial for Charles Seeger at memorial #125011446 on 11 Feb 2014. There was already a memorial #95271907 that was added on 12 Aug 2012. Typically the memorial that was added first is the memorial that is maintained. Thanks, Joe Lerch

RE: Thank You for the Offer!!
Ronald, re: Gordon Mayes' father - Frank Gayle Lee; yes he is his stepfather.

But I cannot find his biological father anywhere. He is in the US Census as early as 1930, living with the Lee's, then in the 1940's all of his siblings (even the three Lee 1/2 siblings) are called Mayes. I cannot find any descendants. I'm going to explain all in the bio.

Frank Lee is my great uncle.

Thank you for your help.

RE: Memorial Transferred
Ronald, Hi. I live approx 60 miles from Franklin (in fact we purchased property there before we retired and that is where we were going to live....but the property was too hard to build on so we sold it, lol)

Do you have any field research you want done in the Macon County Courthouse? I am happy to do so.

I have a friend who is 5th generation Transylvania, Jackson County native. I've been doing her tree for her on Ancestry. The NC records in this area are perfect. I cannot believe how much success I've had. Makes me happy.

Thanks for your time. And thank you for all your Find A Grave work, it is wonderful.

Best wishes,
Carol Lee Vickery

RE: Frederick Bachmann Memorial Photo Enhancement
The plot thickens. The head caretaker and I went through the card file and this baby is in the single grave section with no marker. I did look at the oblisk again and there is no legible writing on it at all. Good shape for over 100 years old though. I need to change his memorial. He and I are not sure how we got the location 2 years ago. I have photographed most of this place and when there is an unknown family stone, I try hard to get all of the family to the right stone.

Haven't found the sisters' husbands, and I think there is yet another sister of Sven in Fairview.

Added by AlleCattPaws on Jan 24, 2016 3:00 PM

When getting pix for the elder Swendsons, I noticed they had two younger ladies with them who turned out to be identified in obituaries as the sisters of Sven: Anna & Edith Swendson who married Frankenfeld brothers; Anna married Walter while Edith married Theodore.

And another OH...this is the Mattson/Freed family! I thought I'd worked with other people in that same section area when I saw it!

I just made a memorial for Velma Douglas Daggett's husband Clovis and transferred him to you.
