Thanks for your kind words. Glad to have found the obit that was posted for J. W. Richardson. Hope all is well with you. This is my first Father's Day without Dad. Still adjusting to his death. You can read his obit on findagrave... Donald Carl Steiger. He ranched in Crook county for 30 years.

Go Aggies.

Howard - Sherry
Silas D. Stroud
Hello Shelia,
I have changed Sarah to Sarah Ann as per your request.
I have been researching the Stroud family for some 45+ yrs. As you and I are cousins I would like to tell you where I got the picture of Dr. Silas.
I have been working many years with Lance Stroud
and that is where I got the picture. He has worked very diligently on this family and the accuracy of info.
His site is very extensive if you haven't been on it.
Sorry if it offended in any way, not my intention. I have many pictures that people have claimed without any permission.
Had I known you, I would have asked if you wanted it posted or not? I was very proud to add it, but if you don't want it I will remove it?
It is very special to me to see the resemblances between Silas and My G. Grandfather William Riley Stroud husband of Mary Ann Goldman.
He was a brother to your Silas.
Please let me know what you would like done.
Thank you, Sherry at sljdznr2@hotmail.com

It will never be the same again. Something like that changes you. I've got a new lease on life and I want to make the most of it. There is a reason that God allowed me to survive. I just don't know why and I really don't need to know.

You requested them last year. I was very sick and almost died. I was in a drug induced coma for 5-1/2 months and then went to a nursing home for 7-1/2 months rehab. I had to learn to talk and walk all over since I was in coma so long. I got home in March, and I'm trying to get caught up now.

RE: Amalia & Wyman Bushnell
I do live here in Sundance -- I work at the public library and we sponsor cemetery walks in the summer -- love the history of our area and work to keep it alive! Slowly working at getting the obits for our local cemeteries added to their findagrave memorials.

I also read local history stories once a week up at our local nursing home. Amalia's daughters Margaret White and Lois Kennedy are both residents up there -- Lois has been a good friend for a long time & she always comes out for the readings. Their sister Helen has been gone for several years -- she was known for her quilting here and organized huge quilting shows here for a number of years. She always did her own piecing and quilting by hand -- almost always in small 2 inch blocks -- she delighted in the "pictures" she created using the fabric colors. We have one of her quilts here at the library.

So sorry it took me so long to get back to this. I could not find an obit in the Miller paper....but, there is an unorganized file of obits that are of interest to our community. I did find it in the "L" files. And as luck would have it, the name of the newspaper and date was on the back of the obit. Newspaper credit is under picture of obit on her memorial page if you click on it. It even gives her middle name!

Sincerely, Barb Jones

Yea. I enjoyed it too. Back to reality.

Haven't lived in Crook county since January 1970...but the country is still in blood. Enjoy researching pioneers.

RE: Ernst Reinhold-Spearfish, SD
No worries. I am proud you can use Texas A&M in the same sentence with the Kentucky Wildcats. That wasn't always the case.

Yes I did the research this morning. Couldn't find an obituary though. Nor a wedding announcement for Ernst and Cora so I am not sure who she is. Or his daughters.

I did find Ernst's older sister Anna Marie Scoles buried in Idaho and linked her to her parents and husband.

Thanks for all you do,

Carl
