Pearl #177133962

Pearl Terrell Melofochick
Blaine and Port Richie, FL - - March 20, 1923-Feb. 20, 2017

"I was given the gift of a long and beautiful life but now it is time to give it back. I received a call I can't refuse, for a long awaited reunion with my beloved Husband Ralph Amsley Terrell."

Pearl Terrell Melofchik, 93, passed away Monday morning, February 20th, 2017. She resided at Atria Park Assisted Living in Hudsan, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Melofchick. Pearl is survived, and will be greatly missed, by two daughters, Theresa Scott, the wife of late husband Wayne Scott of Bridgewater and Linda and Stephen Stiles of Blaine, her 8 grandchildren and spouses, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild along with many other beloved family members and friends.

For many years Pearl could be seen as a friendly face at the Northern National Bank in Mars Hill, Maine, or doing what she loved which was making our world a more beautiful place as co-owner of Terrells Garden Center in Blaine, Maine. She enjoyed spending her days at the Garden center using her hands creating beautiful flower arrangements and working at her gift shop. Of all her accomplishments, Pearl's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. She had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and to make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. Her creative mind, kind heart and brilliant smile allowed her to make everyday activities into a simple story she could share with her loved ones.

A graveside burial will be announced in the Spring.

Please Honor The Dearly Departed
It saddens me to see that you have become another contributor who only cares about how many memorials you create now and not the quality of the memorials. You jump on the local obituaries like a child who licks all the chocolates so no one else can have one. And you create their memorial with only the most basic of information when there is a summary of their life and who the most important people in their life were. These people are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, bothers, sisters. They are people other contributors may have been neighbors with; prayed with; bowled with; delivered papers to; gone to school with; been in social clubs with; known for many years, yet you spend thirty seconds to add one more number to your total with their passing.

This is different from transcribing a cemetery from basic records or creating memorials from death records with very little information that requires researching the information about the deceased. All the information is in their obituary and an extra thirty seconds would go a long way to create a fitting memorial for any person. Findagrave only has rules for memorials “famous” people and manages their memorials themselves. There are no rules for “the rest” of the memorials created. I ask you as a favor to skip the new obits memorials and let the contributors who will create complete memorials with all the details of their lives have them. I cannot tell you how sad it makes me to see people I have known throughout my life just become a number to contributor who will not even add their obituary to their bio or even add place of death and birth when it is right there in black and white.

Yes! He is one of my cousins. It's so good to get this information. Is it okay if I were to use this photo in my family tree on Family Search?

RE: Pyle, Harvy and George
I wonder if Harvy;(Find A Grave Memorial 130543096), was buried near his older brother George E Pyle; (Find A Grave Memorial 130543095),who died 10 August 1862 in New Orleans,Louisiana at Camp Parapet Regimental hospital. The GAR marker could have been George's. We have yet to find the parents grave sites Solomon and Mary Ann, so it is difficult to show the sibling relationships on Find A Grave.

Thank you for taking the photo of Harvey's grave. I appreciate it. It seems that the GAR marker would belong to his father Solomon or maybe one of his brothers since Harvey was only 11 months old when he died.

Been there, done favorite so far is Find A Grave Memorial# 166930939. I actually crawled into the shrub, on the wet ground... I am sure my ancestor was chuckling while he watched. :D

All things considered, it is a great picture, and I thank you very much for it! At least now I know where they are buried, and I have something better to look at than a placeholder on my tree. I am going to have to invent something for photographng through trees...I seem to run into those hidden graves a lot. Thanks again!
