RE: Staggs Family
Here is my line from Joseph Staggs:
Joseph Staggs my G6GF (b.1750)
His son James Staggs my G5GF (b. 1774) m. Sarah
Beard (b. 1779)to David Beard & Eleanor ?
Their daughter Elizabeth Staggs my G4GM (b. 1805)
m. Daniel Jones (b. 1803) to James Jones &
Lavina Holmes (this is where our trees fork)
Their daughter Marilda Jones my G3GM (b. 1841) m.
William Kirk Jones (b. 1834) to unknown
Their son Albert Henry Jones my G2GF(b. 1862) m.
Mary Lucinda Smith (b. 1868) to Absalom Rufus
Smith & Hetta Orlena Alderson
Their son Kirk Elverdin Jones my GGF(b. 1892)
m. Mary Theodosia Sullivan (b. 1900) to
Charles T. Sullivan & Josephine Parry
Their daughter Marjorie Hortense Jones (b.
1921) m. Joseph Lee Dunn (b. 1920) to Seth Carl
Dunn & Anna May Morgan
Their son is my Father Jerry Kirk Dunn (1941-
2013)m. Barbara Lynn Montegna (1941-1940)

As you can see you don't get to Dunn until late in the line, but you never know. My surname line comes from Shadrach to Shedrick to Samuel Seth to Joseph William to Seth Carl who is listed above. Send me the Dunns you have and might be able to find them as I keep all children, siblings, spouses, etc. And no worries about message length. I love this hobby. I will research Mary Mills Drennan (Drennen) and will let you know if I find anything.
Cousin Matthew

RE: Staggs Family
Many thanks. I did not have some of the information you provided and have added it to my file. As I mention in my bio I collect everything I can find. One thing I have noticed with other research and documents is that everyone is pretty good at the past, but not too good at going forward so the current connections to the families are lost for the distantly related children.
I am stuck with anything before Joseph Staggs, Cousin DeWitt, so anything you have on him would be absolutely appreciated. I would really like to know his wife's name if you have that. Obviously his parents would be even better. If I find either I will certainly share it with you.

RE: Alexander Dunn
Joseph Staggs (b.1750) is my G6-grandfather. His son James and then James' daughter Elizabeth are my direct lineage in the Stagg family.
Francis Jordan was David Staggs Sr. first wife. If you look at the birth order and when she died (age 40) I would conclude Alexander and Ida were hers and not Margaret Lyons. It is confusing though and it took a lot of double checking to come to that end.
I also have a document that has a transcribed letter/email from a Tom Staggs in Nashville. In it he says his aunt did some geneology work some time ago and indicates that Robert, Alexander, Ida and David Jr. belong to Francis. The remaining children are Margarets.

Yes, but please do not mention me by name if your tree is on any site such as Ancestry, as it makes my searches more difficult. Instead, please include a direct link to the Find A Grave memorial page in either the description or comments for the photo, to make sure viewers can easity fine and access the original Find A Grave memorial page. Thank you.
