Pat Staggs
Lavada Jones
Hi, I'm part of the Roy/Nunnally family, I've been searching for my Aunt Lavada for quite some time. My sister remember were she was buried at the Patton Chapel Cemetery. My problem is she is listed as Lavada Jones. Ed Jones was her first husband and I understand why she is buried beside him; however she had remarried and her legal name at death was Lavada Logan. How do we tie this together on find a grave or ancestry for future generations? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Pat Staggs

Hi Deborah, sounds to me that you were in the right cemetery. You can also see the coordinates and a map on the main page of the cemetery here at Find-A-Grave:

Nellie's niece confirmed that Nellie is buried beside her husband and that there has not been stone installed for Nellie.
Thank you for all you are doing on this wonderful website.

Yes! Your dad was very kind. Walking me around a bit and telling me about the cemetery. We've recently moved here and cemeteries are a bit of an obsession/hobby. Patton Chapel is the closest to me. There are a whole lot of duplicates and I think I may have sent you a several edits on that.
Lol. Good to "meet" you Ms Mackey.

RE: Nellie Furrate
according to Nellie's niece, Linda Greer, Nellie was buried beside her husband. I'm sad to hear there was never a stone installed for Nellie, though I am not surprised.
Thank you so very much for all you have done to on this wonderful website!

Your messages
Thanks for your kind messages. I am like you - after visiting cemeteries, recording info and taking photos - I find a kinship with the deceased.

I went with my mother to a cemetery where my kin are buried each year on decoration day. She always put flowers on a grave for a man who she said was related to my brother-in-law. After she died, I kept putting flowers on his grave and will continue to so. A couple of years ago while searching for ancestors I found out he was my brother-in-law's grandfather who had died before my brother-in-law was born.

Yeah, there are lots of families that lost 4-5 or more babies when they were infants or toddlers around the beginning of the 1900s. So sad.

I will transfer Beckey and Marion to you ASAP.
Also, will be on lookout for Annie Bell Creamer Swindle.

RE: John Andrew J Mackey
Seems we have another well used Mackey name! We should add Marion to the list behind Jim, James and Frances! My aunt Frances Marjean Mackey was named after Frances (Frank) Marion Mackey (gggrandfather). I have no documentation but I would guess we are related thru My ggrandfather James T. Mackey's father. FM Mackey had more than one spouse and children by those spouse's. Until now and because of find a grave just today a distant cousion contacted me and will send me FM Mackey's obituary! Please keep in touch if you find more information! Thanks so much!

Marion Mackey
I was happy to learn that you had viewed, posted flowers and sponsored the memorial for Marion Mackey. It makes the efforts to photograph and post pics of tombstones in various cemeteries worthwhile. I hope that one day someone will post a memorial for my greatgrandfather and mother and I will find it.
