John B Rucker #146754168
My 3ggf is Peru Rucker. I am trying to prove his parents were Ruben Rucker & Elizabeth Tuel. The only document I have found so far is the will of his brother John Burge Rucker. They all lived in Jackson County, Indiana.
Your memorial # 146754168 lists John B Rucker. May I ask what your sources were for your information?
I found a marriage record stating John married Mary Callahan on 19 July 1882 in Montgomery, Ohio.
In the 1900 census, John B Rucker was born in May, 1852 in Indiana. His father was born in Virginia and his mother in Pennsylvania. (I believe his father was born in Indiana, but his ancestors were from Virginia. I also believe his mother is from Brownstown, Indiana, but she had many relatives that came from Pennsylvania.) He was married to Mary J (Calahan), who was born in Feb. 1862 in Ohio.
In 1910, they have been married 28 years. The birth places of their parents are unchanged. Mary's mother, Bridget J Callahan is living with them, she is 66.
I have not found any death info for John. But I found a death certificate for Mary Josephine Rucker that says she died in Birmingham, Michigan, but it says her mother is Mary Wallace, not Bridget. This death certificate otherwise agrees with her memorial (146753006).
I am hoping you can tell me of your sources, so I can better understand what I have.

Thanks, Al Johnson

RE: Grave Markers
Cemetery records show only three Ruckers:
Louisa, May & Nancy. The three graves are together on the cemetery map. Sorry, no Martha, no Benjamin.

Hi Mary,

As always it is wonderful to discover another memorial.

Perhaps, you might consider a small change in this memorial. You have listed the deceased's name also as his own sibling.

My relationship to this memorial is the deceased's father is a paternal great-great-grandfather of mine.

Would you please contact me at I would love to discuss this line with you.

Keep up the good work.

John P. & Elizabeth (Keepers) Carr
Grave Memorials #82553743 & 82553770

Parents to Elvira F. Markwell.

Elvira is listed as an adopted daughter of John P. Carr in the 1880 census, Vienna, Scott Co., IN. It is possible that Elizabeth (Keepers) Carr was previously married to a Markwell

John P. and Elizabeth had not children.
Elvira Markwell was John P.'s neice, daughter of his deceased sister Isabella who married William A. Markwell in Scott Co. in 1867. Isabella died in 1872.

I am descended from Thomas and Elvira (Parker) Carr, parents of John P. & Isabella and have done much research on this Carr family.

I agree that we have a duplicate record. I would like to use my picture but you can maintain the memorial. But the tombstone indicates she was married with Thos. Gulick

RE: Prichard photos
Thanks. I transferred Catherine to you. These were the only Prichards I saw in this lot.

RE: Prichard photos
May I also transfer Catharine Prichard's memorial to you (same Cemetery/Lot & family)? Thanks

RE: Prichard photos
You are very welcome. I also added the photo to Betty Lucille Prichard's memorial #110323431, but her burial location needs to be added & I wasn't able to do that.

Crelia Rucker 129062623
I am working with the SW Historical Society and have found information about Crelia if you would like to add it to her bio.
Crelia married Samuel M. Overton in Appanoose, Iowa on May 7, 1906. They moved to Gradenspot, Stevens, WA where he was a farmer in 1910. Sam must have died before 1921...I can't seem to locate he or Crelia in 1920. But there is a Washington marriage license on March 15, 1921 for Crelia E. Overton and Rev. Francis H. Calder. Rev. Calder died April 25, 1925 (Crelia was his second marriage) and by 1930 Crelia is living in the Samuel and Jessie Kenney Home in West Seattle. I have posted an article written in 1937 about Crelia. Her WA death record shows she died using the name Crelia Calder. I have placed an edit for her name if you would accept the edit.

Do you by any chance have a photo of Crelia that the Historical Society could use? We would acknowledge your ownership.

Thank you - Ann

Rucker Pass (or Gap)
Mary, where did you get your information on James Rucker leading his family through Rucker Pass? I have long wondered how this geographic feature got its name.

See that you already added the info from the memorial I created, so there are no edits coming your way from me. Also posted a couple other Rucker memorials, any relation?

Mary, that's great to hear. Its like a story. Absolutely will add the necessary info as an edit to your memorial and the photo. Will then delete my duplicate memorial. Yes when I create a memorial I check to see if someone has created one at the same cemetery, and since you did not have one true it does not show. Just created it today, and you found it. Have you been looking? I have an extensive photo library if you are missing someone from the general area and think they might be at Evergreen also.

Let me know when you're ready for me to add the photos.

When I was looking for Charles Rucker to fulfill your photo request, I also found markers for sons William and Robert Rucker nearby. If you decide to create a memorial page for them, I would be glad to add photos of their markers.

Margaret H
Hello! Looking for information about JEHU RUCKER
I am descended from Jehu and Eleanor's daughter, Mary Anna Roush. I have a copy of her death certificate with their names on it. Do you have any information about when and where Jehu and Eleanor were married? Also any records of Jehu's birth? It's so confusing with the different names he seemed to be called. (Jehu, Jay, Jahn in one record, and John) I tried to find the copy of Eleanor's obituary, but can't online. Did you go Lawrence Co for that?
Sorry for all the questions, and I will be happy to share any information that I can gather.

RE: Rucker
I believe you are right. I originally thought (and marked it) 1818 but it's looking more like 1848.

I've learned so much from your research and am glad I was able to contribute. You are the expert but I think I should add 1829 to DOB and 1848 to DOD. Agree?

Also, we didn't spend too much time at the site but the graveyard is pretty big and I think cows were allowed in at one time. Lemuel the revolutionary is hard to miss but that is definitely not his original stone. Do you know where the original is? I just assume it is totally washed out or face down up there. Next trip I make I will definitely bring some things to make rubbings although zooming these pictures are as good as being there

Mary Ann Rucker, dau of Lucy Blake Rucker
Can you tell me anything more about Mary Ann Rucker, who was the daughter of Lucy Blake Rucker, wife of Lemuel Rucker.

My husband's great grandmother was also named Mary Ann Rucker. She was born in 1851. We thought that she was born in Greenbrier County, Virginia, but do not have any documentation other than a death certificate for her. The informant was her daughter Ledora Hutchison.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
