RE: Mary Leota
I have done quite a lot of searching, and I still can't find anything that definitely links your Mary Leota to my family. I did notice a couple of items; one is the 1930 census showing that her first marriage was at age 22. I found a Mary Lindsey & M L Downing marriage license dtd 7-23-1923. It listed her age as 23, when she was actually 18, however, I can see someone altering their age as perhaps they might have needed parental approval. I also found a marriage cert dtd 12-24-1928 married to my uncle, Oria Watson. She is showing age 25, when she was actually age 23. I was unable to find a marriage cert for her and James L Fewell, I suppose they married in TX and those are not readily available. So I'll keep searching. I do think I would like my name removed from the Find A Grave for Mary Leota. I appreciate all the work you do on Find A Grave. Thank you so much for your time and effort in trying to help me. Ann

Martin Luther and Alice O'Steen
Hi. My name is Susan O'Steen Sorensen and I am the grand daughter of "Luke" and Alice O'Steen. Both were buried in Abilene but I don't know the name of the cemetery and they don't come up in the Find a Grave searches I've done. Is there any way you can help me? I would like to find the name of the cemetery and ultimately a picture of the grave stones. Please let me know if you can provide any information for me.

Thank you,

Susan O'Steen Sorensen

Ola Lee Clark
Thank you for making the change, but apparently this Ola Clark has the middle name of May and is not fathered by Ambroes Clark. So you may want to change the middle name back to May.

The photo posted to Ola Lee Clark is actually for Ola May Clark. These are two different people. Our Ola Lee was never married to someone by the name of Silas Clark, as shown on the headstone.

Our Ola Lee’s maiden name was Clark, then she married twice.

First to James Freeman and last to Edward James Howard, so her last name at the time of her death was Ola Lee Howard. Please remove the photo until more research is done.

So sorry for the confusion.

Gertrude Norwood
I have always been confused about her and what made it even worse is the marriage record in San Augustine, the fact that her death certificate stated she was married as did the 1940 census enumeration in the Abilene State Hospital. From that info, I put them together.

The more I got to looking at James G Holmes census enumeration, I'd get even more confused. It was stated in the 1930 census that he was married to Lolly G in 1912, that is the same year I found a Gertrude and James connection.

There is a Norwood reunion coming up at the end of March, and there might be someone there that is related to her. She is only distantly related to me so not really interested in taking management unless you want to get away from it and then I would be more than glad to take it.

Thanks again for contacting me and correcting me on my data, I am always happy to clear up my muddled mind and data.

Gertrude Norwood
I have removed the memorial I created, not sure why I didn't dig deeper, probably cause I didn't use her maiden name.

As to my memorial, and her last name, her death certificate stated she was married and a marriage date for Gertrude Norwood to James G Holmes can be found in Bk 4, pg 575 in San Augustine Co, TX records. I have not had time to visit San Augustine again to see if she was divorced or not. I can find James G Holmes married to a Lottie G Holmes in the 1930 San Augustine Co, TX census enumeration and a Lolly Holmes in 1940 San Augustine Co.

I have not found two Gertrude Norwoods in San Augustine Co, so assume that this was her. Will have to continue to look and will ask around at the end of the month at a Norwood reunion if anyone knows of her.

Thanks

Cemetery at Abilene State School
You say in your Bio that you were given all the school's cemetery records. Would you be willing to look for an ancestor of mine who was a resident there? Annie Lavonia Wilson was a resident and died there in the early nineteen hundreds. I would appreciate any documentation you have about her and/or her death.
