RE: Re: SHAW/DAMON
Hi Denise, currently I do not have an active tree on Ancestry.com - I used to. I have looked at the tree you are talking about and did get some information from there. I have a book on the Shaw/Damon family history and another on the Wheat Family that I was able to use to find the graves on Find-a-grave going back to the 1700s. If you happen to have any pictures from your grandparents when they were younger or from Lora and Henry Martyn - I would love to see them. I do have some pictures I got from my mother-in-law, but alot of them are out there on Ancestry.com from when I had my tree on line. I was talking to my mother-in-law and she remembered your Mom and her Aunt and Uncle very well.

Thanks,

Roy Woodruff

Hi Denise - I would really like to see what you have. My wife's grandfather was Warner's brother, Elmo. We have quite a few pictures of the family and I have researched the family quite a bit. My mother-in-law is Dorann Shaw Bellah.

I wasn't sure where the other children were buried. I heard that Warner was killed in a holdup at a store, is that true?

Thanks,

Roy Woodruff

Hi Denise....

I finally got around to adding the info you sent to me regarding Abigail. I'm sorry for the delay. Very interesting bits of info you sent to me on her. It must have been exciting to find such an early ancestor with your maiden name.

Her gravestone was moved along with others from the Church Yard in E.Pembroke. I'm not sure of the Church's name at the time. It's changed names a couple of times since I've lived here. I was told by the caretaker of Hillside Cemetery that the headstones were moved but the remains were left behind. It's now a sort of open lawn or small field by the Church. Hillside Cemetery is about 5 miles away on Angling Rd. in E. Pembroke.....Just a tidbit I thought i'de pass along.

Take care...
