RE: Anna Moriah Edney
Hello, Holt.

My notes on the death of Myra Elizabeth Edney Hurt:
Cook County Genealogy Records (Deaths). Birth place Asheville, NC; death place Chicago, Cook, IL. Occupation Housewife. Spouse name James Hurt.

Don't know if you have this in on Anna Mariah Edney in my book:
Obituary The Charlotte (NC) News, 23 February 1904: Sudden Summons This Morning - Niece of Gen Baylis Edney. Miss A.M. Edney died suddenly this morning shortly after 5 o'clock of heart failure at the home of her sister, Mrs. L.E. Benson, No. 208 North Tryon Street. The death of Miss Edney was altogether unexpected and was a severe shock to her relatives and friends who were greatly shocked by the announcement of her demise. The funeral exercises will take place tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at the home, 208 North Tryon Street. The deceased was a niece of the late General Baylis Edney and was reared in the city of Asheville. Miss Edney leaves two sisters, Mrs. L.E. Benson of this city and Mrs. Myra Hurt of Knoxville. Miss Edney had endeared herself to quite a number of friends here and the news of her death will be a source of much sorrow. The interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.

As to your other questions on those burials, I have no additional information at this time.

RE: Millie Hodge
I began working with her last year, when she was first diagnosed with the cancer. I was able to get information added to her gr. grandfather who died in the Civil War and sent links to him from his son's memorial. I was sad to see her go.
After she passed away I worked on finding her husband's side of the family and got links back several generations.

Jackson Rice
Looking for any information on Jackson, son of William Rice & Martha Longmire. Jackson married Rosannah Ray. Some say he died in TN and others say Cherokee Co, NC. I did find their son Alfred who died in Virginia. Any help is appreciated. Blessings.

Hello, Holt.
Those originals were in the home of your Uncle Frank Robinson. He had a ton of pictures, and which he had inherited from Mary Ellen's family.
Included were her notes on the history of the family. I made photo images of it all, and have compiled it into a booklet which is at the OBCGS(may be in the vertical files).

RE: Col Ambrose Mills
As it turns out, I suppose I'm not. I am descended from a William Washington Mills (who I thought was Ambrose's son, but the two William Mills have different wives. My William Washington married a Catherine Wheeler.)
But thank you for the information. I wish I could claim him. I think such a Tory would add a lot of spice to the family.
I do have a picture of the marker.

Good evening! I have just added the links for Joseph Hawkins' parents. I will check on the email address for Jack's daughter this weekend.

Yes, Jack Felmet was married to Sarah McHarge, a sister of my dad's mother (which makes them my great aunt & uncle). Jack and Sarah's daughter Marcia is a first cousin to my father.

Please re-send the links as I've been offline just long enough to become rusty at this stuff.

Take care,

RE: Hawkins/Felmet
Hi there Cousin! I've finally gotten settled into my new place! So I'm related to Joseph McConnell Hawkins via his wife, Martha Adella Nelson Hawkins. Her father, Hiram Nelson, was my great-great grandfather. That makes Joseph McConnell Hawkins my great-great uncle by marriage.

I'm so happy that you sent me a message here. I'll take a look at your original message and make the links you requested.

Warm Regards,

RE: Hawkins/Felmet
Hi there, Cousin! I apologize for the delay in responding to your message; I have just moved house, and my computer at home is not yet set up. My paternal grandmother's side of the family links me to the Felmets. I still keep in touch with Sarah's daughter Marcia Felmet Messer, although it seems that 2013 has flown by and I haven't done as well with my correspondence this year.

I hope to have my home computer set up this week, and I will work on making links, etc.

It's very nice to make your acquaintance, and I look forward to corresponding with you in the future!

Best Regards,
Cousin Julia

RE: Technique for making links
If you go to the page and see the word Edit at the top, go to it and write what you want and then the message gives me a link to get back to that person. It is easier. You did a nice job when you wrote the message because of giving me the person's number and I was able to look up the number and find them. I'm always happy to do connections!

RE: Mt Zion cemetery - Berea
I would be easier on me if you went to the memorial site and sent the message from the child.

Rice Family in Hughey Cemetery
Holt, I appreciate the info, however, some of the graves you list I did not find in the cemetery. This is my Mothers family and along with Mom and her uncle (caretaker-cemetery is locked) we took pictures and documented each grave. He is knows each person and their history. I do not doubt the Rice family, but these individuals must be in unmarked graves? People are now just adding names that I know are not there, it is really upsetting. Some are Hugheys from Graham county. They just add because it is Hughey. Also, could you send me an edit for each link to be added? I tried but got a little confused trying to match. Thanks so much for your help and God bless.
