RE: Bessie Scott Baker
If you have any photos of William Harrison Baker or Frances (Shores) Baker or any of their children, I would love to see them and so would my roommate. His name is Brad Crosley. He is the grandson of Frances Eldora (Baker) Crosley. Frances was the daughter of William Perry and Bessie (Scott) Baker. He can remember both of them when he was little and I know he will be excited to see anything you have. My email address is

She is my roommates great grandmother and I someone in his family had it. The full photo has her parents and brothers and sisters in it. Do you have any other photos of her or her husband?

Joan ~ You created two memorials for your aunt on the same day. It would certainly be nice if you would please delete one of the memorials. Many thanks ~ Jo C

RE: Word
My research shows James Cole Word and Charlotte Temple Armstrong are the parents of Charles Temple Word.

If james Cole is at Spring Creek, his grave may be unmarked. The family was in a section surrounded by an iron fence, and I recall taking interest in the family because I knew Vivian Word of Marvell, AR.

I didn't photograph every marker in the cemetery, but I did get all that I spotted who were Words...but I'd think that James Cole Word would be in that fenced in area...but the grave could be unmarked if he is there.

RE: George Jefferson Baker
Joan - I don't know who the parents of George Jefferson Baker are. A good place to start researching this may be with Thomas Jefferson Baker (1889) and his wife, Ellie Simpson Baker (1902). I only say this because of the name, Jefferson, the birth years of Thomas and Ellie and they are all buried in Hurricane Cemetery. That's all I have. Wish you the best - take care.
