Hi. I was in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, today and tried to find Emily Rutan at Maple Grove Cemetery. There are a whole bunch of Rutans there and apparently David Rutan was a noted abolitionist who helped with the Underground Railroad. I only looked through one part of a very large cemetery, so I plan to phone the office this week. I was really mad, like, "All these Rutans and no Emily? Seriously?" But I could have missed her or she could be in another area. You don't need photos of anybody else?

Frances Ogden photo request
I did a complete search for her grave in Oak Ridge Cemetery and found the plot where she and her 2 children are buried. They have no stones, however. I posted a photo of the plot for you. I also found her obituary and posted it. There are always folks who have no stones but it is disappointing to learn, I know.

It could be a typo from the Gen Soc who read the stones. I used their info to enter these into Find A Grave.

You're welcome! it was a beautiful day yesterday, so drove down, and did all the names on the list. The new directory really helped in finding the headstone.

RE: Lawrence Coon
Do you want a photo of the marker that I think is his? The record says his grave is in row six, and this marker, a small basilisk sort of thing, is row six, next to the other four.

Do you have any other info on her, such as spouse, parents, etc.? there were several Coon's in the cemetery but I couldn't locate a stone for her. Will be happy to go search again if you have any other info

You might send a request to the person who put the memorial on Find a Grave and ask that her maiden name be added. It was my pleasure to take the picture. Have a great day.

I was really kind of grumpy when I found there was no death notice either, but glad I was able to at least get his son's obit. There are children of William buried there as well - just haven't had time to get obits and sort them out. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Kay

I looked through the newspapers a couple of times a week on both end of the death date, but found no notice of Elisha's death. So, unmarked and undocumented death-wise. There was an obit, however for son William. I was able to link him to his father, his wife and two children so far.

You are welcome - but I still hate it when I find one is unmarked. That is why I think findagrave is so important. do you want me to check for a death notice? A full obit might not be very likely.

Hi Mark!

You're most welcome! I'm glad I was able to fulfill your requests.

Just in case you didn't notice,I had added Marvin's. His stone was next to those you had requested!

Thanks again! Have a great day!
