If the headstones are gone from this cemetery is there a map of registry of who is there and where they are? I am inquiring about a request you did for someone else for the grave of Isaac N Alies. Thanks so much. Brent Lang

Regarding John Ceawford.

You left some Civil War information about this man, giving the company name and details of his death, but forgot to say what regiment he joined Do you have that information?

Thank you and all the best.

Sorry they were cut off. A ladder would have helped but alas, it wasn't in my bag of supplies. I have a couple more pics of Mary's stone I will post soon.

I'm working on a volume of grave locations for veterans of Co. M, 15th NY Heavy Artillery. Could I have your permission to use the picture you posted of William Thurston's grave in this compilation? I will cite you as the source.

Thank you.

RE: Hezekiah Catlin photo request
You are welcome for the photo, glad to be of assistance. By the way, Hezekiah is my fourth great grandfather, hence, a personal stake in taking a good photo.

Thank you for the flower you left for him. It gave me additional information I need to make sure the memorial is as accurate as possible. It is sad to say but on the 1870 Mortality Schedule in Andalusia,Illinois they listed this man as basically a vagrant. After all he did for his country. They had just gotten to the area and no one knew them.

What a WONDERFUL surprise to read!
Hello there Bert!

What lovely lovely words of thanks to read this morning. YOU certainly did make my day!

Once in a while I will get intrigued by an 'off branch' of my family tree and do a bit of research into the individual.

With David A Catlin, I could not resist!

I was curious of what his relationship was to me when you sent the I did a bit of research only to find that he is the paternal grandfather of the wife of a brother-in-law of my 2nd Great Aunt. I had to chuckle to myself when I saw the relationship...smiling. Now that is truly getting a bit off the main branch...wink!

But he was definitely an interesting character!

Schoonmaker in Fallsburg Cemetery
Alan, I think there is probably only one grave there (if it can be found). The below transcription is from GAB's records. It doesn't indicate that the parents are there.

SCHOONMAKER, Albert M., son of Marvin & Ruth SCHOONMAKER, d. 12 May 1872, ae 6 y, 10 m, 7 d

When I get done with Woodbourne Reformed, I was thinking of working on the Fallsburg cemetery.

RE: Alexander Catlin family, Elmwood Cemetery
You are very welcome, Bert. It was great seeing these stones in the sunshine instead of under the shadows of the trees. -Deb

RE: Lucinda Teller
Whoa! You really did clean it up!!!!! You went above and beyond Alan...thanks so much. I am just happy I noticed her sitting back there in another photo. I often wonder how cemeteries get updated given most don't keep or want to lend a master list by date. Would be an undaunting task to have to rewalk the whole cemetery. Bless people like you who do get out for those of use who can't. Have a great week Alan

Lucinda Teller
Hi there...I have been looking for the burial site for a Teller relative of mine for quite awhile. She should have been in Grahamsville, but I didn't find her on several sites. I was looking at James Teller one day thinking and got a notion to enlarge it and way in the back...yup there was my missing Lucinda. I added her in and put in a request for the headstone, but nobody has picked up on it yet. If you ever go back there again, could you please take a minute to take her picture?

This is James...way in back you clearly see Lucinda Teller if you enlarge it.

Alexander Catlin, Elmwood Cemetery
Just touching bases with you on this memorial. I've tried several times this summer to get photos of this family lot, but the conditions are challenging. I posted the best one on Alexander's memorial today. Many of the stones in this lot are nearly unreadable. I'm still trying to match the markers with the individuals, and hope to get better pictures later. Perhaps the group shot, even though it's not the greatest picture, will provide some sense of the family for now. best regards -Deb

Thank you for sponsoring the two memorials for me. I transferred the one to you, but would prefer to keep Thomas as he is also my ancestor. I am related through his daughter Mary who married Joseph Churchill and on down through that direction. We must be distant cousins of some sort.
