Photo request for Bertha Fennell
I'm working on this photo request, but I need more info. You asked for "and spouse". She is buried in a single grave & is the only Fennell in section 95.
Do you have a name & location for her spouse?

What you see for Charles is not his " Stone"
That is the Plot section entrance marker. Zoom In the plot picture) The only Headstone in the section is the one for Eva Whittel Childress

RE: Brockman Cemetery
JD Edwards,
Greenway does exist, it is the name of the homestead which current owners have maintain and renovated the Greenway Home. The Greenway/Brockman cemetery is on private land. Monrovia Rd is a state maintained road and divides the Greenway Estate/current owners land. Their house is on one side and the Brockman cemetery is on the other. I posted on Find a Grave all the pictures of the cemetery from the condition I first found it in and the pictures after my children and I cleaned the brush and saplings away from unmarked graves (due to headstones being moved) to headstones that was left there.
In the state of Virginia an owner is required to make access to cemeteries be it private or public. The land owners that have private cemeteries on their land are not required to maintain the cemetery.
There are only a few headstones left, PVC pipe can been seen marking graves with no headstone. The individual that owed a church felt is was best to place the headstone at the church to preserve them. The individual does not have records of the layout of the graves before the headstones was removed. I posted a picture of the church on to find a grave under Brockman Cemetery so inquiries would have visual knowledge of the church; which is around the bend on Moravian Rd. The church is inactive but the headstones for those graves are there.
Below is Information I collected on this cemetery. Hoping my information helps you.

Brockman Cemetery also known as

Mr. Paul Brockmanís obituary he left all of his research of the Brockman land and family to the Orange County Historical Society

Eva M. Hackney
I have no idea if Eva M. Hackney and Eva L. Hackney are the same person. Back in 2009, I had a list of people buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery that I put in Find A Grave. Just cannot swear to them being the same person.

What an odd thing to be curious about. If it satisfies you, I was quite busy that day with things of a personal nature. My stop there was to fulfill one request that was posted on the site. I felt good about fitting the small deed into my crowded schedule, and again, wonder why you wonder? Perhaps one's personal motives do not fit all. Thank goodness.

Go online and type in rockingham county va cemeteries. You will find several items. The one I used was HRHS Cemetery Project. Scroll down and there is a site to click on for cemeteries. The Myers cemetery is listed and it will show directions and burial data with photo if available.
Let me know if you have a problem with these directions.

Or her rather. LOL Sorry. I know the stone she shares is with her daughter and son in law, but, regardless I did add a note to the bottom of her memorial page and link to the other memorial. So hopefully it will be less confusion.

We went to that cemetery to pay our respects to my 5th great grandfather, John Corder. Took pics of everything else that we could find. Pretty overgrown.

I made it myself. That was my first one. Got a Dremel tool for Christmas last year and decided to give it a try since I have so many family members without headstones. Harder than you think. Diane

RE: Early Cemetery
Yes - it is in the middle of an industrial complex, or rather, they built all the industrial stuff around the cemetery! You turn in like you're going to Nielsen Construction, a long straight drive, and then you will see it straight ahead in front of you before you make a sharp left to go to the construction company. There's a pretty wrought iron fence and gate on it. If you zoom in on Google maps, you will see a little square with 2 big trees and lots of stones.

RE: Jemima Catherine Crites Reel
She was my gggrandmother on my dad's side. I never did find the exact date of death. I went by a deed that was done after she died and by the date that her husband got remarried. I am looking into the exact date by some church records; when they find the book. Also I look at the the newspaper reels that they have at the library for the Grant County Press of old obits. Have found several that I couldn't find a death certificate for.

RE: Samuel Smith Children
Hi J.D.

On page 1 of the HRHS website, they have 2 known children in the cemetery listed as "Infant Smith" they are on either side of Samuel's memorial. The markers were not visible when they first recorded the cemetery. Below is a copy of the listing. Hope this helps.. It can be found close to the bottom of the 1st page. This is the page http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~varockin/HRHS/cem/trissel1.htm

RE: Photo request for Carl Shaffer.
No problem. If you get more info, i could go back and take another look. There were a few sink holes, some filled with water from all the recent rain, so it could be under water right now. Also, a few markers on the edge of the cemetery were partially covered by overgrowth from large plants. So it might be hidden from view. If we could find out approximately where in the cemetery the plot is, might be able to locate the marker if it is hidden. There were many other WW2 service markers there.
