RE: James W Preston Info
Hi Dana, It's nice to find another distant cousin. You can pretty much track James' family from my posts on Find A Grave. I've linked as much as I can and have pretty much found all his siblings and of course the two people that brought the family to the USA. John and Nanny Waters Preston.

In the early 90's a man came to our house telling us (my mom and I) that he was the great grandson of a Caroline Preston Christie. He had done a great deal of the Genealogy for the Preston Family. Concentrating basically on Caroline's life. Her brothers were James and George (my great grandpa). Since that time I have been trying to find out what happened to all the siblings. Most stayed in New Jersey and are buried in 2 of the nearby cemeteries.

John and Nanny have been my pet project of sorts. With a little help from the granddaughter of another sibling Sarah I was able to purchase a grave stone for them after over 100 years of being without one. I continue to try and find out about the children of John and Nanny. There were nine, Caroline, James, Elizabeth, Daniel and George all born in England, then in Paterson, New Jersey Joseph, Sarah, William and Amelia were born.

I would love to see a photo of James if you have one, or any other of his family. I would also love to update the burial info I have for him, do you know where he's buried and if there is a stone?

RE: James W Preston Info
Dana, Thank you for the information. Are you related to James W. Preston? He was my great grandpa's brother. If you are related I would love to know if you can help me and maybe I can help you with some information on the family. I have been trying to locate as much as I can about the siblings of my great grandpa. He and three of his brothers, James included enlisted in the Civil War on the same day. I am amazed at how strong their mom Nanny and dad John had to be. Thanks again...Sharon
