Hi Kathryn,

You are more than welcome to use the photo however you'd like. It's your family member, so it should belong to you!

Glad I could help. Merry Christmas!!

RE: I wonder if we are related!
Hi Kathryn,

I'm sorry I didn't see this message sooner. Yes, I am related to the Musicks. My great grandmother was Julia Musick Long, gg-grandparents were William and Ann Musick. They resided in Millville, CA, where a lot of the Musicks are buried. The Musicks and Longs both came from Missouri but I think at different times. It's highly probable we are at least distantly related but how far back I don't know. I'd be happy to share any information I have, though I've been away from the genealogy for a while now. Can't wait to retire so I can get back into it.

How are you related to the Musicks? Is it the Millville family? The only one I ever knew personally was my grandfather's cousin Ray, who died in 1989 as I recall.

Best,
Ken

James Perry Colvin created & transferred
Kathryn, we're distant cousins through the Marriott/Merriott family line. I found your Uncle James Perry Colvin's Kentucky Death Record and his U.S., Headstone Applications for Military Veterans, 1925-1963. Since I didn't find a memorial for him on Find A Grave, I created one and have transferred the memorial to you. You're closer in relation than I am.

You're welcome for the picture, there is a tree towards the back of the cemetery with a large limb down and his headstone was out of site.
Let me know anyone else you're looking for in this area or places you want pictures of. My email is on my profile page.

I found this grave at the Central Point Cemetery. It only has a temporary marker but the other Mayfield's next to him had gravestones. This cemetery is in deplorable shape. Were you ever able to contact anyone about this place?

RE: Central Point Masonic Lodge Cemetery
Sorry, I don't know much about this cemetery, except that it is terribly unmaintained. I know from others I've talked to that the person who manned the cemetery district office at Sunrise Cemetery is either no longer there and/or isn't answering emails. My sister said that quite a few things are also missing from their website. Wish I could help.

Kathryn, Thank you so much for the web address, at least I can see the names listed of those buried there. I understand this cemetery is in very bad shape. I have several relatives buried here.

:)

Ancestry is a great tool, but not everyone is as careful as they should be when adding dates etc...what really is a problem, is if enough people add that date, Ancestry will automatically make an Millenial File of it.
Lots of room for more family ;)

I have looked around a bit, not as much as I intend to, but enough to know that the "FindaGrave Index Record", is related to my memorial for him, where the year of 1775 came from is not part of actual record if you click on "view record", but it is part of the text..... I will make a note on memorial that this date is a possiblity, but for now, there is no proof..... but I will let you know if I find something in Quaker records or elsewhere.
Blessings,
L

I will do a little digging around on him in particular. His parents are my 5th GGParents, and I was blessed by other volunteers who were actually there on site (Rebeckah Billings, I think) .... I will see if I can find any other records for him.... if I remember correctly, there are a few William's and it was difficult to differentiate for sure which was which... ALSO, if I remember correctly, someone has made memorials in a nearby area, that are actually some of the same people under a different cemetery name.
Blessings from a Distant Cousin :)

Hello,
Thank you for writing an edit for year of birth.
He happens to be family for me, and I would be interested in anything you may know of him.
Could you also share with me how/where you know about year of birth so I can reference on memorial, I would appreciate it.
Thanks Again,
L

Hello Kathryn,

I have honored your request to maintain your 2nd GGrandmother's memorial page. I appologize for the long delay. Your email somehow made its way into a seldom used file.
