RE: Lance Sorensen in Newton, Kansas
Yeah I couldn't see it too well. I believe those are Audine's Cremated remain cause that what she told me once that when it was her time to pass she wanted to be cremated and ash place with her son Lance there.

I have contact the Jackson County Library down in Medford, Oregon to see if they can get me a copy of the Audine's Obit back in 1992 hopefully they can get back to me soon with that info.

RE: Who were Florence Dawson's parents?
Brussard was Florence's stepfather's name- her mother's second husband.
Florence's parents were Daniel S. Crawford and Emmeline(Wolf)Crawford Bussard originally of Northampton County, PA and moved to Cuming, Nebraska prior to their third child, Newton's birth. Daniel Crawford (a civil war amputee) passed away in 1881 and his wife Emmeline (sometimes Emma and sometimes Lina in the various cenuses) remarried sometime after 1890. Flora's mother, Emmaline, explains her first and second marriage in an affidavit given in 1922 for her daughter Mary's passport application which reads: "Emmeline Bussard, formerly Emmeline Crawford, being duly sworn upon oath states that she was born in Upper Mt. Bethel, Northampton CO., Pennsylvania, in the year 1846, and that she is a citizen of the United States, that she is the mother of Mary Crawford, applicant for passport, and that the father of Mary Crawford was Daniel S. Crawford (now deceased) who was born in Lower Mt. Bethel, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania in the year 1844, and that he was a citizen of the United States, serving in the Civil War in the Union Arm. That Mary Crawford, applicant for passport was born on July 10th, 1872 in Bangor Pennsylvania and is a citizen of the United States........" signed Emmeline Bussard
On the same passport application, Florence's sister Mary lists her birthplace as Bangor, Northampton, Pennsylvania on 10 July 1872.

"United States Passport Applications, 1795-1925," database with images, FamilySearch ( : 13 October 2015), Mary Crawford, 1922; citing Passport Application, Nebraska, United States, source certificate #203923, Passport Applications, January 2, 1906 - March 31, 1925, 2060, NARA microfilm publications M1490 and M1372 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,710,525.

Florence's father, Daniel S.,was the fourth Crawford brother and one sister, Mary Jane Crawford Neligh, as well as their widowed father, Seth Crawford, to move from Mt.Bethel, Northampton, PA to Nebraska

Emma appears with her parents and two siblings in the 1880 U.S Census living in West Point, Cuming, Nebraska (father "D.S. Crawford" mis-transcribed as "L.S."; Mother Emma Crawford; Flora age 9 born in Pennsylvania, Mamie (Mary)age 7 and Newton, age 6. "

After her father's death, Florence also appears in the 1885 Nebraska State Census with her mother "Lina" Crawford and two siblings Mary and Newton.

Florence's daughter, Alice Emmelyn Dawson can be found traveling with Florence's sister Mary Major Crawford in 1935 at "New York, New York Passenger and Crew Lists, 1909, 1925-1957," database with images, FamilySearch ( : 2 October 2015), Mary Major Crawford, 1935; citing Immigration, New York, New York, United States, NARA microfilm publication T715 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).
I will try to email you the above records. Mary Crawford was an English Instructor at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, book editor and up to at least 1999 the University of Nebraska gave out an English Department Shakespeare award in her name.

It is also interesting that Mary Major Crawford (aunt to Alice/Sister to Florence) and Alice Dawson both died in Monterey, California.

Alice's California Death index also lists her mother's name as Crawford

"California Death Index, 1940-1997," database, FamilySearch ( : 26 November 2014), Crawford in entry for Alice E Dawson, 09 Mar 1961; Department of Public Health Services, Sacramento.

I have more records if you need them. Thanks for your consideration.

RE: Lance Sorensen in Newton, Kansas
Hi MrsB

Audine Mozelle (Williams) Sorensen's is Lance's mother. I know this cause she met my mom back in 1970's in Medford, Oregon. Audine was also my baby sitter from the time I was a little boy until she passed away from Cancer in 1992. She wanted be buried next to her oldest which of course is Lance.

Audine also had another son name Mark (I don't know if he is buried there in Newton, KS or not) He work at the Jackson County Fair ground getting the entertainment at the Fair which is held in Mid to July. I know he passed away in 2000 from complication due to diabetes cause Audine had it too.

You might want to contact the Medford Mail Tribune to see if they have Audine's Obit if not the Jackson County Library might have on Microfilm.

RE: Cletus Patrick Render
MrsB-I could only find him on the 1930 federal census-Harrison county, Iowa listed with his brother Gerald. Also, registration for WW11, which list his sister Marrie Render.
I am doing research for my sister in law and this would be her extended family.
At least, he is linked with the rest of his family, which is important. I like to link up what families I can, hoping this will help others doing research.
I know I make some typo errors and have to laugh about them.
Thanks for all your contributions to Find A Grave.

RE: Daley/Daly memorials in Holy Cross
MrsB, I was just getting ready to send you some links for Daniel P Daly/Daley #129649063. In all the records his name is spelled Daley, everything but his tombstone. This is the generation that the spelling changed.

The only records I have found are his baptismal records showing his birthdate and his Mass Card showing his death date. Both show he was born and died in Omaha. I will send links.

I will, also, be sending an edit for his wife, Mary Ellen "Mayme" Foley with links. Probably not tonight.

If you wish you may look at my tree. It is

RE: Who was Beto's father
I believe it would be very helpful for you to view my tree. My tree is private but allow anyone access. I would need your Ancestry user E-Mail not user name. User name has not been working for invites and Ancestry cannot seem to figure out why. When I get a moment I will do some more research as of how I found his fathers Find A Grave and more proof as to being him. I do know if you look at where each family member was at throughout the years it puts everyone in the area as to where they may have passed away. It's really self explanatory when viewing my tree. I realize proof is in the pudding. I'm busy at the moment but will get time possibly late tonight.

I have Beto's father as John Branson York 18451878.

This family is not blood but I do have them connected to my tree.

I will reply back as soon as possible.

I was looking to fulfill photo requests at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska and you have three requests in for the Hungate family. There are photos on the memorials and it appears the graves are unmarked. Your photo requests were not claimed and remain open. Two of the memorials have extensive bios and it looks like your amazing work. I found the obit for Vesta Hungate, it was very short. I sent it to the contributor of her memorial as an edit request to add it.
