RE: Wolter
Your very first message told me to change the name to WAlter, which is why there was so much discussion. LOL. How communications can get muddied! I spent nearly 8 hours trying to find how you came up with the name Walter (= to 30-60 families not having any info). I would have changed the given names without question . . . having 5 given names myself, I easily accept those. While your great grandparents died in Indiana, their legal residence was still in Cincinnati.

I still question Werner/Warner as Anna Maria's maiden name because Olga's death record shows otherwise, but I'm done with the research for now.

Working on the euphonious Vehrenkamp/Fehrenkamp family now.

RE: Wolter
I made some of the changes. Sophia's gravestone shows maiden name is WOlter, not WAlter. All records show WOlter. It is highly likely that the family changed the name at a later date.

Wolter is a German name, Walter is not (it would be WaltHer); Warner is English, WErner, German.

I changed the name then returned after seeing Sophia's grave (I sent Todd request to link to parents).

RE: Wolter
Thanks, Merry! Interesting story re you family members. I'll so a bit more research. If this is the same family, they are probably in the same lot with the Lueders. My concern is that the names are VERY common; I don't want to confuse and conflate two separate families.

The transfer is beyond the guidelines for Find A Grave. So I will keep them for a time and likely make the corrections you suggest. Usually it is best to use the "edit" tab for name changes, date corrections, etc. This one would require more questions in any case, so no problem.

I should be done with all my work in Cincinnati in a year or two. Ask again, then, and I'll likely turn them over. It is easier for me to handle them now to make other corrections and linkages.

If it is any consolation, while I have created over 26,000 entries, I have not asked for the transfer of either my father or brother, let alone others.

RE: Maria Wolter
What evidence do you have for the difference in names? Wolter is the name on census & cemetery records. Acceptable is "this is my grandmother whom we buried in Walnut Hills," but then it would be odd that you hadn't created the memorial in the two years before I became a member. Happy to make changes, if you are 100% confident in the change, or to transfer within the guidelines and let you make the changes.

I transfer within the guidelines. What is your relationship?

Many thanks for the update. Not sure how I missed that. Are you connected to this family?

Lyon's Cemetery
You might not have heard that northern CO had a 500 year flood. Lyons was evacuated and currently only Lyons residents are allowed in the town but the city doesn't have water so most people don't stay. There is a volunteer that lives in Lyons but he is probably to busy to take photo just now. Give the volunteers in the area a little time. One of us in the a area will get the photos for you.
