Thank you so much for going out and looking for her gravesite. It means a lot. Any photos you have are greatly appreciated. Also, thanks for offering to go back and clean up the marker you think might be hers. Thanks, again.
Michael

Walls Family Cemetery
Hi, Wes, you added a photo to Walls Family Cemetery (the memorial is http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=50127586). I suspect the system added your house GPS to the cemetery, which appears not to be in Clay Co. Can you help fix the map? Thanks!

RE: Jacob Bankston
You have a good eye, Wes. The original marker is correct, 1881. The newer marker has the incorrect year. I updated Jacob's profile to reflect this. Thanks!

RE: CL Brown
The photograph was made in good light and is clear, I wondered if you have any addition information on this memorial. The monument is a bit odd. and appears to be a concrete section post. Thanks bren

Re: Henry Wall
Hi Wes,

I just seen your message below from last year. You will need to contact Find A Grave thru the discussion forums in the cemetery corrections section. They're the only ones who can correct this.

"This may not be the proper place to report this problem, but this cemetery is showing to be at my house. there is no doubt i was the one that caused this problem as i have recently visited this cemetery in its proper location in Clay county, al. i must have accidently touched the update gps tab while viewing the cemetery at my house on my cel phone and it relocated it there. can you get this changed or is it something i will need to do elsewhere?thanks wes"

Thank you so very much for the great photo you took and posted on Find A Grave. I have waited a long time for these and so appreciate your fulfilling my request. You are a blessing in helping researchers to find more about their ancestors.

John Strong & Mary Strong
Sorry, Wes I meant to leave my previous message for Reba Chunn. Seems like there are several duplicate memorials for Browns and Strongs in two cemeteries, both named New Hope Cemetery.

John Strong & Mary Strong
John and Mary Strong are actually interred in the other New Hope Cemetery which is NW of New Site and just west of Goldville in Tallapoosa County, AL on Valley Grove Rd. It is sometime referred to as New Hope Brown-Strong Cemetery.

RE:John Willcutt (Oct. 16, 1870 - May 1, 1910)
The only headstones next to John were three small plaque type stones. James Willcutt 1829-1896, Jane E Willcutt no dates, Virgia - Little Sister - Wilcutt 1915-1916, Jim - Little Jimmy- Willcutt 1909-1910.

RE: Gerry and JJ Davis
I would like to see edits for Gerry's maiden name (and first marriage?) and links to other relatives. I tried to research Gerry and Johnnie myself, but I had a difficult time finding documentation that I could be sure was for the right people. The marriage record had her name as Geraldine, which would be logical. As a relative, can you help (or submit edits yourself)?

RE: Harlin Nelson jr
Hi Wes, I am trying to add the birth date you sent me but someone named T. Painter has me blocked out until around the 22nd of August. I guess he got tired of waiting on me and I apologize but my husband and I have been having health issues and I haven't spent much time on Find A Grave. Wanted to let you know I'm not ignoring you. thanks for your patience. Rose

I just sent you a message saying it was a duplicate Find A Grave, but looking someone added him to the wrong cemetery, but same name New Hope. I looked on the map and very different places. So Sorry about the message. They are my 3rd great grandparents, my mom and I are making a trip down there soon and plan on doing a lot of family research and trips to many cemeteries.

Dalton J. Nix
RE: James R Nix
You have the correct J R Nix. His full Name was James Russell and he was called to dinner, and most other occasion by the name of Jim.
His monument at Moodys Chapel Cemetery list DoB as 15 Dec 1880. Other census provide various dates. His WWI Draft reg list 15 Dec 1979, and his listing in the bible of Wife, Fannie V, is 15 Dec 1879. I have a hand writen list of the bith dates of children prepared by his mother; Louiza Penitas (Netie) Conn. She said "Jim Nix was born December the 18, 1879. But, before we assume the mother is always correct, she list the name of his brother William Tyre as "Tire". Genealogy is fun!
I can supply you with copies of all these documents if you are interested in the details. But use my e-mail address. daltonn@knology.net

You are welcome. One reason I like this site is that it gives us all a chance to give back and share. I've been on the receiving end so many times, it is good to know that I helped someone else. Good luck in your search.

RE: Ella McKeithen
It may or may not be Ella. I just haven't been able to find her yet and am wondering if it could be her since it's close to Abb. I will take a picture and send it. It could be a few days though - I have workshops in Birmingham today and tomorrow - the opposite direction of the cemetery. :) If it is her and her family wants to do something to fix it, I'll do whatever I can to help.

Yes....I've looked into ways to have it taken care of, but so far no luck. There is no caretaker, church or city willing to do something - even the newspaper isn't interested in it. Sad isn't it?

You are quite welcome. I was glad to do it. I didn't pay any attention to the graves around her's, I will be out that way sometime this week, weather permitting, I go take another look. Anyone specific?
