Anna Bell Bratton
I was able to locate and photograph her gravesite. It does not yet have a headstone, but if one is placed I will get a photograph of it.

H.M. Billingsley
I'm not sure if the women in the photo are related or not.

The photo was originally sent to my grand aunt Anna Bell (Billingsley) Bratton and her mother, Mamie Evelyn (Smallwood) Billingsley.

H.M. Billingsley and J.H. Smallwood are both my 3rd Great Grandfathers through Henry's grandson Joseph Alonzo Billingsley, son of John Rucker (of Henry's 1st wife, Mary Angelina McDonald), who married James' grand-daughter Mamie Evelyn, daughter of Samuel Milligan Smallwood.

So Mamie and Joseph were my Great Grandparents :)

H.M. Billingsley

The photo of H.M. Billingsley's gravestone was not originally mine, however was available to be shared through and should be available to add to your tree through their :)

As for the photo of the memorial, unfortunately my grandmother never knew the names of those in the photo other than Henry himself and his best friend James Smallwood and my great-grandmother never wrote them down on her copy of the image, so I am still searching for their names and confirmation on the location it was taken.

I would be happy to send you both photos, you can email me at

RE: Thomas Billingsley
Thomas Billingsley was born 16 Feb 1781 in montgomery county, NC. The Son of Samuel "Sias" Billingsley and Elizabeth Wilson. His wife was Elizabeth Abercrombie. His death was 9 Oct 1850.

I did not put in the dates of this because I've not seen the tombstone, so when someone finds the stone, then the dates can be added, just incase it is a different Thomas.

This information was found in the source: The Billingsley Family in America; Part I. I John Billingsley, page 301. You can view this on if you are a subscriber here is a direct link to that page: (You may have to copy/paste into your search engine),346,1870,397;860,1559,1085,1623;1067,1558,1374,1615;733,1644,1076,1701;1059,1641,1498,1697;1673,1636,1916,1691;1898,1634,2209,1691;634,3182,1006,3239;731,3864

The transcription of the graves in this cemetery can be seen on the USGENWEB project. Here is a direct link to that page:(You may have to copy/paste into your search engine)

Hope that helps.

RE: Anna Belle Bratton
It is okay if you copy her obit, but the cemetery picture is not mine. The person's name is under the cemetery picture, so you will have to contact that person. I will be happy to transfer your aunts memorial to your care, but if you want the transfer please let me know.

Norwood is Not Mine
ResearcherLS -- There are two Jonathan Norwoods in Gloucester, neither of them under my management. If you are referring to the one in Bayview Cemetery, I added the photo, but you'll have to contact the memorial manager for a transfer. Sharron

RE: Oliver Smallwood
You are welcome. While I was taking those photos, I also took one of Thomas Samuel Ward Find A Grave Memorial# 99953339. That marker is located behind the one for Oliver and Edna. In researching that name I located the birth and death information which leads me to believe he may have been a grandson of theirs. Check out that memorial and see what you think. Also if you can confirm any family relationship to the mother, I'll be glad to link. I was not able to find anything further about either the mother or father, although there are many Ward's in the area cemeteries, some of whom are related to a classmate of mine.
