I have several people who remember her, and say she was a member of the Catholic church, but no one can tell me if she is still alive, or what became of her

RE: Grover Cleyon Jones
All I could find was that Marie continued to live in the same house in Miami, AZ through 2001. I looked in the current phone book, and her number is no longer listed. Arizona only allows public access to death certificates up to 1963, so it would be difficult to find her that way. I will keep a look out for her obituary. She may also have moved....

If you could please send me the findagrave memorial number, it would help me to find if there is any other information I can give you.

RE: Hathaway
You're welcome. :-) According to Beers 1883 History of Union County, Ohio the land was "donated as a burial ground by Dr. Nicholas Hathaway." But that is the only mention of him in connection with any Union County cemetery. The Hathaway (Connor) Cemetery is in deplorable condition--worse than it was when the reading was done in 1981--and I'm certain that if there ever was a grave stone for him it's long gone.

Julie, I see there are more Teixeira's listed in Find A Grave that do not have pictures. I'll make a list and try to get back out there. It will be a while though. There are also a few Terry's that need pictures also. I'll get them too...I posted a lighter picture of the engraving on Joaquin's monument. Best Regard.... Les

RE: Newman Cemetery
Boy did you make work for me. There are 17 Teixeira's scattered all over the Catholic area. I walked a mile and a half in the heat but think I have pictures of them all. Even the haunted one. I took two cameras and again the picture mysteriously disappeared but the second camera got it. The engraving is on the north side of the large cross so is always in the shade. It's a beautiful rugged cross. I'll post them after I take a shower and rest up. Takss a little longer with your 81...ha....Les

RE: Newman Cemetery
Juliann, I think Joaquin Teizeira'a grave is haunted. I've tried three times to get a clear picture of the inscription and either they come out all blurry or today the clear copy I took wouldn't download to my computer. I will go back tomorrow. It's a challenge now. Maybe I'll take a priest with me....Les

RE: Newman Cemetery
Juliann, I am going back to the cemetery today and will take picture of all the Terry's and Teixeira's I can find. I had taken all yesterday but my camera focused on some lint on the wide angle lens and the stones were not in focus. First time I had that happen.... Les

No problem--sometimes things are worth repeating. Thanks for the kind words; they are appreciated.

You're welcome, Juliann. I'm sorry, I thought I mentioned that Charlotte is in the crypt. I wouldn't have used the crypt photograph for her if she was buried elsewhere. ;-)

RE: Charlotte Henderson
You're welcome, Jliann. The caption with the photo doesn't have her name in it because I said "Also entombed..." I had to contact the cemetery office to be certain that Charlotte was in the crypt with the rest of the family. So she doesen't appear in any of the other captions--yet. Gotta go mow grass so I'll fix those captions this evening or in the morning. -- Leona

I saw that you were looking for them. I may just head over there tomorrow. They're pretty nice in the office so I can probably get that done after a morning of picketing in front of my Chicago Public high school. Hope for the best.
