RE: Eleanor Groh

Eleanor also known as Ellen and "Lena" died tragically as young child while crossing the street with her young cousin when they were hit by a streetcar. I believe she may be buried next to her father as there is a small stone there with a "C" for child I presume next to his head stone, but I have not been able to verify it as such as of yet.

The probate statement most likely mainly deals with the accident settlement with the streetcar company.

RE: Elizabeth Dodson Seyffert
Your Seyffert is all fixed up. I noticed that his wife's memorial has a slightly different date of death. The memorial says she passed away on Feb 3rd but her stone says Oct 3rd. Just FYI. Thanks! Susan

Hello David, Rebecca Williams is my 2nd G Grand Aunt. Is your Rebecca Williams the daughter of Charles Williams and Elizabeth Colbert? If so we could be cousins.

Thank You.

George Dodson & Elizabeth Seyffert photo requests
You are receiving this message because you have submitted a photo request for the above named person(s). I wanted to let you know that I will be traveling to that area from Dallas during the first week of June and I would be able to get the requested photo(s) for you. I do need some help from you tho. While I am in the Chicago area, I intend to get as many names off the list for Evergreen Cemetery as possible. The list is growing every day and is now at 263 requests! Evergreen Cemetery is near and dear to my heart as I have several of my own family members there. If you would please call the cemetery office and obtain the burial plot locations and send them to me, I will for sure get them for you when I go there in June. If everyone could get me the locations I could really get a lot of requests done but I can't do it alone! The office number for Evergreen Cemetery is 708-422-9051. You can leave me a public message with the information, or you may email me at Please be sure to reference the requested names. Thank you!

Re: Ruth Lewis photo request
Death certificate states she is buried at St Felix Cemetery, Freedom, not Cavalry. I looked it up and it is aligned with Oak Grove Cemetery. I am going there this morning so I will see if they have a record.

Ernest Edward Briggs
You are very welcome. I accidentally added his son's gravestone to his memorial when I first fulfilled the request. When I realized my mistake I was no longer at the cemetery, so I went back the next day and found that his stone was right next to his son's. I had overlooked it originally as it was late in the evening, and I had been graving all day.

Jerome Roseborough
Willie Mae Bailey, do you know if she served or if only Edward did? I see Pvt and Cpl listed in this memorial. Who was Pvt and who was Cpl in the US Army?

Artimis Chacona Dodson
Hi David,
Noticed you posted Anna Nickles Chacona's death certificate to her memorial. Do you know if Artemis Chacona Dodson is buried with her husband at Calvary or with her parents at Lakeside? I have an obituary which doesn't specify where she was buried and want to add a memorial to the right cemetery.

All patched up - and connected to the parents as well!

RE: Infant Girl Dodson
Dunno for sure. Since she doesn't have a name, that would indicate she wasn't baptized. The initials of the parents line up, though. Do you have Find A Grave numbers for the parents? I so, put an "edit" together, and I'll connect.

Thanks for your response. I would be happy to share my research with you. But I don't know how to attach a file to this Public Message form. My email address is Contact me there by email and I will respond with an attachment. Fair winds, MARK Lussky

Are you familiar with the connection between William Dodson and Lewis Helman? I have been researching this for a historical article.

Anna Dodson Butler
Do you know if Anna and her husband (Richard?) settled in Ohio? I'm trying to track down the parents of my great-great-grandfather John D. Butler (b.1843). He was born in Morgan County, Ohio, but settled in Circleville, Ohio. There was a woman named Harriet Butler-Stermer who lived near him in Lancater, Ohio that could be one of John D.'s 13 siblings. In 1860, Harriet's mother Anna Butler was living with her. Wondering if it might be the same Anna. Any help is appreciated.

Death certificates
Please don't add them. The information on them about parents, place of birth and birth date is frequently wrong and the cause of death is an intensely private matter. You are also adding something as a picture that is not a picture, and it is lifted from another website.Since you do not hold the copyright for this image, you should not be adding it. This is a website for the final disposition of the person memorialized and the death certificate does not enhance our knowledge of the life being celebrated.

Ah, you were so close to their gravesites and now you're so far away! Thank goodness for Find a Grave so you can see the stones. It's a suitable substitute until you get back to the area.

That's wonderful to hear that Abbot Placid will be sending you biographies.

Happy Holidays!

Thanks so much for circling back to me with what you learned from the Abbey. I also see where Rev. Haas is mentioned in the memorial for his nephew, Rev. Rosswog.

Have you visited their grave sites?

Thanks for your reply. I looked at the stone, which is not in the best of shape, and believe I have the birth date incorrect. I'm going to change it to 1866 as well as link to the parents you indicated.

As far as I know the four dates in Latin are for birth, professed, ordained and death.

Interesting stuff!
