RE: Memorial
Kathy,
There's the possibility he served more than one enlistment, often not mentioned in an obituary. If his muster our date in the first company preceded enlistment in the one where he was a prisoner.
Regards,
Neil

RE: Memorial
The clipping which I attached was printed in our local newspaper of Berks County, The Reading Times in then year of his death. Perhaps you are seeing records of another with the same name, if he was mustered out.

So sorry, I cannot find a memorial with this name variation. Would you provide the memorial number please.

Madeline Carlin
I saw your message on Marianne's page and wanted to answer questions for you in case Marianne doesn't get to respond or you are still confused. (I frequent St. Pat's cemetery also).

Marianne entered the memorial for Madeline in 2011, years before you entered yours. Find a Grave rules state no duplicates, which is why you were requested to delete your duplicate, and hers was there first so it is the original.

Family are not the only ones allowed to enter memorials - I have over 25,000 I have entered and am probably related to less than 1%.

You are not a direct relative within 4 generations of Madeline as Find a Grave guidelines states for a mandatory transfer. Which means it is up to Marianne if she wants to transfer to you. She is under no obligation to however.

Hope this clears up some of your confusion.

Levi Hammerstone
I have been checking out my ancestors and find that Levi was my great-great grandfather.
If you are interested in contacting me my email is akpaulus986@yahoo.com Please put "about Levi Hammerstone" in the message section so I will open it, I don't open mail from people I don't know.

RE: Corp. Joseph Rohrbach
You are quite welcome. I know these discoveries are very exciting for many, they have been to me. The photo I display for Joseph Rohrbach can also be available in black/white. I tint them to blend with the page background.
Regards,
Neil

Cheery hello
I was trying to help some friends input their families into the cemetery when I noticed three different cemeteries all being the same one...glad to help!

I was looking for a cemetery in Philadelphia County when I realized this cemetery was actually in Montgomery County. Smiling!

I don't know who Amelia married. I found John's obituary and there was a great sketch of him. I attached it to his memorial. You should be pleased. I can send a monochrome full-size copy of the photo to your email address. Reply to neilain@dejazzd.com

RE: Corp. Joseph Rohrbach
Hi,
Yes, Sarah is buried there. Would you like to add her memorial or do prefer if I do? I can also transfer Joseph to you if you like. I may be able to find either or both obituaries as well. Sarah's dates are 1/3/1832-7/15/1885. I have other Rohrbach names for that cemetery also to be added there. Check there later.

William Lerch
Thank you for the info about his wife. His obituary didn't give her name. Are you a relative? I would be more than happy to transfer his memorial to you if so. I just happened to come across William's obituary while I was hunting someone else, so I added it to Find a Grave in case someone else was looking for him.
