Hi Michelle, I don't know much about Avery. He was the son of Love Hyatt and Caroline Hurst, one of (I believe) 10 children born to the couple. I cannot find where he ever married or was in the service. There is; however, an Avery Hyatt on the 1920 and the 1930 census listed as an inmate (patient) at the State Hospital in Raleigh). He did not die there however, he died at Broughton Hospital in Burke County (Morganton) of pneumonia. Broughton is also a psychiatric hospital. That's about all I was able to find on Avery. Regards, Cheri

You are very welcome. I can lose myself in a cemetery taking pics!
The stone is not dirty. Remarkably, it is in great shape. The stone has a marble effect and that makes it hard to read. I will go back and decipher it :)

The user who previously managed Alonzo and Eunice Meadows' memorials transferred them to me. I don't know why. Let me know if you'd like to manage them.
Added by Em on Jun 25, 2012 5:49 PM
I went ahead and posted the photo of Alonzo's grave to his memorial.
You are welcome, and let me know if I can be of help again.
Added by Em on Jun 25, 2012 3:08 PM
I fulfilled your photo request for Eunice Meadows. Would you like the photo for her husband Alonzo as well?
