RE: Timothy Carrington

No, I'm a long ways from an expert on finding sunken stones. I have found a couple at the Upper Salt Lick Cemetery but this was pure luck.

I think a piece of rebar should work find.

One of the last times I was on top of the hill at the Upper Salt Lick cemetery, you could see where water had washed over the hill, it looked like large waves.

So many of the older stones were set with out a foundation. I'm surprises Timothy Carrington had not sunken more. In a few years his will be gone. Timothy' stone is at the foot of the hill behind the church, just to your left if facing the cemetery, if I remember correctly.

Elizabeth Lane Goodloe and her family are on the right side of the church, closer to the road, which is KY 211 South.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Good Luck

RE: Timothy Carrington

Knowing the Upper Salt Lick Cemetery, like I do, it doesn't surprise me that Mary Lane Carrington cannot be found. So many of the older and even newer stones have sunk into the ground.

In 1993/94 a person ask me where her half sister was buried in the Upper Salt Lick. I told the lady where Rena was buried. I had been to Rena' gave so many time in past years I could walk to her grave in my sleep. She found Rena' grave and stone, left flowers on Rena grave. Rena died in 1940. In 2007 and 2008, my oldest sister and I searched and searched both times for Rena' stone. It was not found. Like so many others it had sunk into the ground. I'm sure this is what happen to Mary Lane Carrington' stone.

Mary Lane Carrington' sister Elizabeth "Betsey" Goodloe is also buried in the Upper Salt Lick, along with Elizabeth' husband and child. Elizabeth Lane Goodloe' oldest daughter Mary was killed in MO, by her grandson. I provide the info, parents, place of birth, marriage info, and how she died to the person who has Mary Goodloe Wilson memorial on Find A Grave. I have lots of articles on Mary Goodloe Wilson' death.

Good Luck
