John R
The Seversons/Syversons
Hi ~

Does your ancestry include any of the children of Peder Syvertsen, born about 1828 in Norway and married to Anna Marie Olsdtr, born in Norway about 1832?

They settled in La Crosse County and had 5 children, Olof, Ida Amalie, Anne Petra, Edward and Stener.

Thanks for reminding me about this memorial. I contacted the other contributer and asked that it be updated on their memorial. Will be checking to see if it happens,,I still have my memorial and will delete it when changes are made.

Wilhelmine Meese, St. John's Cemetery, Rice County
This was noted as a request for a photo--this person is my great-great-great-grandmother, and I believe there is no legible, or even available gravestone for a photo.

Wilhelmine (Bense) Meese was born 3 Aug 1809 in Apelern, Schaumburg-Lippe, Germany, and died 31 July 1877 in Wheeling Township, Rice County, Minn, and buried at St. John's Church Cemetery.

You're very welcome! It's my honor to take photos for our veterans' graves there. I do love the way the snow photos turn out when it's possible to get them. They're bright and colorful and it makes no mistake that we're in the north. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!

Thanks for sending data concerning the Dietsch memorials. If it alright with you I will transfer them to your care. I am not comfy with the 7 year age difference in Charle's birth date on his stone and his birth year on census records. Since you are extended family, I am sure you will want to make other additions to the memorials.
Thanks, Debra

RE: Margaret Schrimpf
You're very welcome... we happened to be in the area. No, there was no sign of Mathew and Margaret was the only Schrimpf named in the cemetery list that was posted there.

Sherry Ann Gary (Nicholas)
Hello I am researching the Struss, Strus, Struhs, Strauss, Struß surnames in Germany. I take it they were from the Hamburg area. They then immigrated to New York from Bremen to New York and my great great grandpa Henry Struss then moved to Minnesota. His son Fred Struss was born in North Dakota then my grandma Mildred Struss was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, they all came to Oregon in the 1940's and have been here ever since. :) Feel free to email me at I am also on Ancestry DNA, Ancestry, Family Tree DNA and Family Search.

Thanks :)
