RE: Woolsey Pride grave photo
My mistake: Algae Mildred Pride married St Elmo (I think they called him Popeye). The lineage is Woolsey Jr > Elvis > Otis Dola (Dolie) > Algae Mildred.
It gets confusing because nearly everyone in that part of the family goes by a nickname, some of which aren't even CLOSE to their given name. Ack!
Anyway, I don't have much on the Pride family so I'm grateful for any info you provide. I love to hear stories about my ancestors.
If you send your email address to I'll send you an invitation to view my family history on Ancestry (which you can access free of charge).

RE: Woolsey Pride grave photo
Woolsey Pride's great grandson Elmo was married to the woman who raised my father and became a grandmother to me. I am grateful for your family for making me the person I am today.

I'm not sure if you are interested in military history but Woolsey fought for the Union during the Civil War under the name Wesley Pride in the 1st Regiment, Indiana Cavalry, Company B. He mustered in 20 Aug 1861 a Private and mustered out 12 Sep 1864 a Corporal.

RE: ALice Dixson and family
Thanks for the response. I found some of the information doing additional research in Ancestry and from what was shown in the history of Gibson County IN. It will take me a while to go through what you have. Also, I am not related to Alice or her family (or adopted family). The connection to us is by marriage.

Alice Dixon
I am working on the Cook genealogy, which includes Alice (Dixon) Stewart. Can you share the information regarding her birth parents,John & Catherine & is it verified? Thanks.

RE: Memorial# 23402407 John Dickson/Dixon
Hi Debbie,

I decorated the memorial but did not create it, look at the bottom of the memorial and it will show who actually created it. You could send them a message and ask if they might transfer the memorial to you, or if they won't, then tell them the additional info and they should add it for you. Have a good evening!

Hi Debby,

No, I don't have any way to get a picture, I enter the memorials from cemetery transcripts, I don't live in the area of most of the cemeteries I work on. I would like to transfer him over to you and any other family members as you know a lot of fascinating history that you could add. All I have to work with is the info on the lists and sometimes there are errors in those. May I transfer him and any others over to you? Thank you, have a good evening!
