RE: Bray Archibald
I used to live in Green Valley, 35 miles south of Tucson. Then we moved to Prescott in 2003 and built a new house in 2004. Finally we moved in March 2016 from Prescott and built a new house in Montrose, Colorado. I think this is the 2nd to last move. The next move will probably be to Boot Hill. Lee

OK, I just deleted duplicate.

Now I am going to look for "Open The Door LeRoy" again. That popular 1944 tune must be out there somewhere, just waiting to be heard.

LeRoy (the German)
Yeesh

RE: Bray Archibald
You are right. The male names generally are fairly easy, William / Bill, and so on. But sometimes Ulysses didn't like that first name, so he goes by Wendell -- which isn't even his given middle name. Go figure. I have one in my own family. Uncle Clarence didn't like his first name because the tough kids in his class thought he was a sissy with that name. So he began calling himself Percy. ? ? Oh yeah, Percy sounds a lot more macho. Ha. When I was a growing up I never quite knew what to call him. I had to ask my dad about his brother, and dad told me the story about him and his name. Yeesh. And Uncle Clarence's / Percy's middle name was Gustav. Oh well. LeRoy.

Any by the way, I am from a German family in Minnesota. I asked my mom one time why I have the name LeRoy, and not some German name. She said that it was a popular name in 1944. So?, I asked. Why was that so popular? She said it was a popular song, "Open The Door LeRoy". What, I was named for a popular song I never heard of? I bet that tune was a real thigh thumper. Yeesh. I have hunted for a recording of that tune but have never found it. So much for being popular, ehe?

Hmmm. What are the memorial numbers? The greetings from Find A Grave does not have any memorial numbers listed. What is the memorial you created, and the duplicate I created? LeRoy

RE: Bray Archibald
Well, sorry about that. I don't understand how and why these duplicates happen, but they do. Strangely enough, I have duplicated several of my own memorials a year or more later. When that happens I sit here and very carefully punch in the deceased name and date and get nothing. Or other times I punch in the memorial number -- very carefully and exact -- and get nothing. The I might just put in the surname, state, and date of birth and I get the memorial. ? It is kind of strange, but it happens. Several years ago I spoke with one Findagrave member and she was a little perturbed because she entered one memorial the the Findagrave computer created 51 duplicates. She was in the process of deleting all the duplicate memorials.

Oh well. I shall delete my memorial after I check to see if the memorial you created can use anything off of the one I created.

Cheers,
LeRoy

Christine Jones
Hello Wanda,
If you would contact Garden of Memories for the location of Christine's Grave I would then be able to complete the photo request. The Cemetery will only give the information to relatives.
Sincerely,
Suzan

Deaf Pride
Ella Rodgers photo request
Ella Rodgers is buried at Phoenix Memorial Park. The location is: Garden of Memories, Lot 113, Space C-4. The cemetery office confirmed that it is an unmarked location.

Due to the new format, you will need to delete your photo request, otherwise it will remain in place and possibly be claimed by others.

Thanks

Oh, so sorry you missed it! It was a bit hit, and they're already talking about doing it again. Although it's tough on the volunteers, I think having the cemetery tour at the same time as the Home & Building Tour really helped the number of people attending overall. Hope you are well...

I can find no reference to Gila City Memorial Park and the old name for Globe was Globe City. It is possible that the reference to Gila City should have been Globe City.
