Forgot to mention it appears John & Catharine's daughter is also buried there with her husband, John Harig. Her Find a Grave Memorial is above and her gravestone lists nee Garling.

|Carol & David||Levi & Catharine Donat|
I found a copy of Levi & Catharine Donat in the Jacobs Union Cemetery records. I created memorials for them in Find A Grave, Levi, 171636937 and Catharine, 171636971. I am more than willing to transfer them if you want to manage their memorials. The person who photographed quite a bit of Jacobs Union took the stones next to them, Charles A. Donat 1845-1927 & the Rev. Willoughby Donat 1841-1920 so maybe he couldn't read their stones especially if they were in the shade. Let me know if you want me to transfer.

There is a book on Jacobs Union Cemetery at our local library. It has some records from the cemetery by rows which is where I got my records from originally. I have been trying to add the gravestones to the records I added. I know someone took quite a few pictures in Jacobs Union but I have found some not added after that was done. If you would like I can check and see if Levi and Catharine are listed. Let me know. I am related to the Oswalds in Jacobs Union.

Basic translation of the stone from German to English:
Johann Garling born 15 February 1816 and died 30 November 1843. Aged 27 Years 9 Months and 15 Days. Lived in marriage with Catharina Sechler 3 Years 5 Months (rest is underground).
I listed the above on his memorial as well. The bottom part Lebte in der Ehe mit means "lived in marriage with" and you see this on quite a lot of the old stones. Some of the old German stones list the number of children they have between boys and girls. I have seen enough old German stones in my family to see some of the German words and know them. The rest I ask friends who know the German language.
Hope this helps in your research.

Hello Chuck: Looking over these notes & it seems I recall asking for a copy (will reimburse you). David is Jacob's son & bro to my Andreas. You & I are "cousins" ! How about that?
Anxious to hear more....Sylvia.

|Janet||RE: Sylvester Hariff|
The Union Soldier in that grave was in the 125th Ohio Infantry. He died shortly after the battle of Chickamauga and is buried among men who died as a result of that battle. I could not find a Hariff (of any variant spelling) who fit the regiment and date and place of death other than Sylvester who is a 100% match. I hope this helps explain.

|Sylvia Hamm, Canada||HAMM (Jacob & his line)|
I know that many researchers have errors in my Jacob Hamm line and I see some of them here. If you or anyone would like to compare and if there are any pics available of this line,please email me. I live at Sussex Corner, New Brunswick in
Canada. (firstname.lastname@example.org). My ancestor is ANDREW(German:Andreas)HAMM, s/o Jacob Hamm who was born in Germany(but where?)in 1729, came on Speedwell in 1749 to America,lived in PA,then on to NC. There were other Jacob Hamms,and the wives' names tend to get mixed up with those of the children's.
I hope to hear from anyone descended from this JACOB HAMM/ JOHANN JACOB HAMM, born 1729. I am so into this research since 1960. Waiting......

|Faye||RE: Johan Daniel Hamm and Anna Maria Sechler Hamm|
I have no records at Jacob's concerning birth year and death year for Anna; but one of our members has a record of her birth as 1732 listed in the "Draft Lists of Descendants of Johann Daniel Hamm, children Andreas, Barbara, Fronica and Family Group Sheets for Descendants of Samuel Hamm". Do you know what year Johann and Anna got married? Where their marriage took place? Philly or Jacksonville area? There is also a possibility they had a child named "John", according to what I have.

|Faye||Johan Daniel Hamm and Anna Maria Sechler Hamm|
They are both buried at Jacob's Church, Jacksonville, PA in an unmarked grave; I have that Johan Daniel Hamm was born in 1728 in Switzerland; arrived in Philly in 1748 at the age of 20 years; I have his death in 1790 but I think that is wrong, because he sold an acre of land to Jacob's Church in 1807 according to my records; Does anyone know his parents?
Anna Maria Sechler was born in 1732 no date of her death
Children: Daniel Hamm born 1760; Richard Hamm born 1762; Nicholas Hamm born 1759; Elizabeth Hamm born 1758 died 1830 married John Fischer; Barbara Hamm born 1764 died 1837 married Jacob Koenig born 1765 died 1829 buried at Jacob's; Fronica Hamm born 1774 died 1865 married John Lutz born 1773 died 1819; Andreas Hamm born 1761 died 1804 married (1)Catharine, married (2) Anna Maria Lintz born 21 May 1771 died 1 Mar 1840 buried at Jacob's Church; Andreas,Daniel, Nicholas and Richard all served in the Revolutionary War

|Joseph||Hamm info quick hint|
Could you also check this cemetery in Berks County. It is just west of the Jacksonville cemetery in Berks County. This also has some of the older farmers of that area buried there. There may also be some Hamm buried there aswell.
"New Bethel Corner Church Cemetery"
It is another cemetery that needs checking out.
Don't be confused with the other New Bethel Cemetery in Berks.
The "New Bethel Corner Church cemetery" is older

Hi Chuck, From what I understand is that John Daniel Hamm and his wife Anna Maria (Sechler/Siegler) Hamm are buried at Jacob's Union Church cemetery in Jacksonville, PA. They are both buried in a unmarked grave. A family member from my side of the family purchased some land from them in what use to be Leaser Lake...before it was the Lake. I may have some extra information on the Hamm family but I would have to look into it. What source or bio where you looking at that had the Hamm information I posted?. I think Anna Maria Sechler's mothers maiden name was a Mauer. Thanks, Joseph
