memorial # 122075319 & photo requests
I noticed that that you have a few photo requests for the notre Dame bascilica cemetery in Montreal.
I need to let you know that unfortunately this cemetery does NOT exist today -- so that there are no tombstones -- the information is right -- because There was cemetery there and the cemetery was in effect between ( 1654-1799) .
The catholic citizens of Montreal were buried there ..
today the cemetery lies beneath the cobblestones of Old Montreal I have put a small map to show where the cemetery was just across from the Notre Dame church which still stands today
have a nice day

Sorry about that. That is her burial location. I just wanted to add that information electronically so I would have a record of it when I go to get the photo.

Other Cemeteries In the area

Hi Kim,

I wanted to let you know about some other Cemeteries in the area. There is Northwest Rush Cemetery which is on a church grounds the church name is Peace Lutheran Church then there is Woodside Cemetery and then you know about Rush River Lutheran church. Those 3 cemeteries ran in the same circles with family members that are all from the same family. All three cemeteries are all old pioneer cemeteries and are still active today. I was letting you know this because when I was a Northwest Rush Cemetry I took a photo of
a Jorgina Evenson Larson born 1866 and died 1936
she married a Sven K. Larson born 1862 died 1936.
Peace Lutheran Church has really good records for Woodside Cemetery and Northwest Rush Cemetery.

Hope this helps.

Connie is my 2nd cousin - her dad is my first cousin. I'm also on Ancestry - guess I'll see you around the family tree!

Sorry for the delay - I've been off vacationing. I think you are referring to the Olsons in Union Cemetery, Elbow Lake, correct? I'll get over there again one of these days. I believe I may be the only one who does cemetery stone photos in Grant County. Have you ever tried the Grant County Historical Society for further info? Their number is 218-685-4864.

I still have to go back to find the rest one day. If they were all in the same family, there may be no stones. I noticed a big gap (maybe two graves) with no markers. It's a big cemetery to walk. Another day...

Reuben Othello Swenson
Hi Kim-

You're very welcome.
Right next to Reuben was Isabella Gudrun Swenson, 1903 - 2002. I took a photo of that stone as well, if you're interested. Just let me know where to send it. I looked on Find A Grave, but didn't find a memorial for her.

Bertha Austad
Hi Kim, I did not read your info and we looked for the Austad grave today and did not find it. I would suggest you delete the photo request you have out there, and add the individual to the cemetery that you are looking for. Then request a photo of that persons stone. Anyone can add a name to a cemetery, I have done it numerous times for my own relatives. Thanks.

i think this may be it. I only went through 4 rows (150?) so far & i would guess another 500 to go through. it is a bigger cemetary than I ever paid attn to. let me know if this is the one. it has been raining nonstop here for the whole week & i got a few shots in between rainclouds. will get out there again soon. maybe later this week or the following.

you're welcome!
Happy to do it, let me know if you have any other ancestors in the Richland/Cass County ND area you'd like photos of, I may already have them in my files, just haven't loaded them on Find-A-Grave yet.
