Hi Terry, You added a nice picture of his gravestone last year. Thank you so much. It was at Center Cemetery in Torrington, CT. Do you ever go back there? I cannot find his sister's grave, who never married, but died much later, in 1950. Her name is Henrietta Maud Treat (1862-1950). And I would think be next to him and/or her parents, also buried at Center, Merritt Treat and Henrietta M Taylor.

|Sarah||Wife of McAlpine Pierce|
I was just wondering if you ever saw a gravestone for McAlpine "Alpine" Pierce's 1st wife at the Cornwall Cemetery? He married Patience Barnes in 1793 in Cornwall, CT but she must have died before the 1850 census as another wife was listed. His second wife, Loley Hunt, is buried in New York but she died in 1858 , four years after Alpine. I apologize if I've already posed this question to you in the past. I am returning to research on this side of the family.

Thanks, Terry!!! Hugely appreciate it!!! From your photos I've learned that an ancestor - who I had guessed was the brother of one of my direct ancestors - was in fact his son.

Hi, Terry, I am working on a genealogical profile for the above subject on WikiTree, and I would like your permission to use your gravestone photo to accompany the profile. It's quite picturesque, and interesting because apparently the stone carver misspelled her name and the marker was used anyway. The memorial recites "Minddell" rather than "Mindwell!"
