RE: N Johnson / east Bergen
thanks again you're wonderful for checking for me. I had a family member who wrote me asking about his marker. I appreciate you. SHe said he had been in the poor house, I don't know if they had a cemetery or where at the mercy of generosity to bury their dead so she is hunting in that direction for now.

Maggie :)

Sarah Pembleton 1787-1854
Hello,

I was visiting my father's and grandparent's grave sites today on my way home from my aunt's home in Monroe, NY (I live in Cornwall on Hudson). I am a long time amateur genealogist, if you will, and enjoy strolling through the older parts of cemeteries, particularly in Orange County, NY where several of my ancestors are laid to rest. I am always hoping to come across one of my "brick wall" ancestors so I keep an eye out especially on the older stones. I used my find a grave app on my phone, just in case I stumbled across an open request. There were many, and the cemetery is quite large. It was getting dark at this point and my 7 year old was entering his witching hour, when out of the corner of my eye I saw Pembleton. I wasn't sure, but thought maybe that was a name on the list (I know this sounds crazy, but I remembered the surname Pembleton after a character on the show Homicide-Life on the Street", Frank Pembleton). I checked and there she was! It was very difficult to read the stone, and at first I thought the first name of the husband must have been Daniel, Samuel or Edmund, but playing around with the editing feature on the phone I see that it is indeed Elemuel. It made me very happy to find her since I have been so fortunate in using this site to locate my ancestor's graves. Good luck with your research. Kim England McGuirk

Thank you so very much!
Thank you so much for the photos of the graves of Bertha Steffen Marshall, and her daughter Ernestine Marshall Gleason. While I never knew Ernestine, Bertha lived with my grandmother (her niece) for a few years when I was very young and I remember her. She was so sweet. I never knew what happened to her, I guess because I was so young. She was in some ways a mystery. Through Ancestry.com I discovered that she had a daughter but was struggling to locate her death...and to find out anything about her daughter. Recently my cousin found her obituary on the Fulton history website...which led to solving the mystery. Receiving these pictures is the perfect ending, and a wonderful gift. Thank you so so much!

Thank you very much for taking the time to locate and take a picture of two of my ancestors, Leonard Dexter and Miriam "Howard" Dexter. They were the parents of many of the Dexter pioneers that settled in Tyrone Township, Michigan. Mike
