RE: information
(Same message, no links)

Sorry, I don't know anything about Roger Axton. My guess is that he's a son of brothers Joe Hendrix Axton or John Thomas Axton. Both were living in McCurtain County in 1940.
All my contacts with the Axtons or Barnses are no longer with us, so I have nobody to turn to. I think I'll try to get my relative nearest to Denison Cemetery to stop by and see what Axtons are buried near Roger.

(No sweat re my name. With a name like Dorsey I'm quite used to it being misspelled (and my gender being guessed incorrectly).

After checking SSDI and birth certificates on Ancestry, I would say they are both the sons of Albert Sexton Patterson and Lela Cagle. I have used the request button to suggest corrections to birth and death dates. There do not appear to be memorials for Albert or Lela.

Carolyn, I will have to do some checking, it may be a couple of weeks as I am not at home with access to my paperwork. If I can't find out I can at least give you someone else that might know.

RE: information
If Emily had them she would have added them to the memorials. She went through the "Daily Oklahoman" archives and added obits for many burials at Fairlawn and other OKC cemeteries.

Is there someone in particular for whom you are looking? At this time I have a subscription to the "Daily Oklahoman" and would be happy to look for you. I did look for H. C. Trolinger's obit at the same time I was looking for Viola's, but did not find it.

The earliest burials in OKC were at Fairlawn; it was the first cemetery here. The sexton told me there are over 40,000 burial spaces, and all have been purchased, although there are empty plots b/c families moved on or just didn't use them all.

RE: Information
Thank you. I figured it was consumption (the old word for tuberculosis) when the obit said it was a "lingering" illness. I drive by this cemetery all the time. Viola's birthday is in October, and I will leave some flowers there then from you and me.

Carolyn;

You are welcome, the only place that you mentioned that I have been to is a lake called Cranfield which is in Missouri just North of Mt. Home, Arkansas. I live in Vancouver, Washington. It is too humid for me in the South.

Very Sincerely;

Carolyn Murphy;

I don't know where you reside but I live in Vancouver, Wa. across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon where I grew up. In fact I was living in Central Oregon when I cam to Portland to visit my mother and that is when I photographed everything that I could find in that cemetery. The cem. is well kept as is located at N.E. 99th and Sandy Blvd. next to the Glass House Tavern. Just thought I would let you know.

Very Sincerely;

RE: name of cemetery north of seminole.
The un-named cemetery I temporarily named Econtuchka is in Seminole county, section 34, T9N, R5E. If the county roads went through, it would be north of intersection EW125 and NS350 on the east side of 350. I found 3 graves with names there, none were less than 30 years old.
Another possibility is an un-named cemetery south of the Seminole airport. Do you want that location?

After a little research on my entries here, I can't tell you much. I did that a long time ago. I will look through my paperwork tomorrow. I still have the paper topographical maps.
