RE: John Dixon
John was my great uncle, he was a full brother to my grandmother Charlotte 'Lottie' Dixon Hanes. I never met him or his family, my Aunt Anna used to talk about the family but grandma never did. You probably knew him better than I did. I have nothing to add so you might as well keep him in your care. Thanks anyway, if I learn anything I'll let you know.. I did finally find his father a few years ago when they moved a cemetery to make room for a nuclear power plant. I called the guys doing the moving and they told me they found him his grave had sunk and they buried his daughter in law on top of him. Now he has a marker in his new resting place.

RE: Elizabeth Webb Valentino
You are welcome. Since Betty and her husband share a headstone, I wanted to upload the pic to his memorial as well, but he did not have one. I added him and uploaded the pic (John E Valentino). If you would like me to transfer management of the memorial to you, just let me know. Brenda

William John Steers
There are two William John Steers Oakview Cemetery. One has a memorial with only the years of birth and death. The other one has All the birth and death information. Thought you like to change it.

I posted the pics of Rebecca and Harold. I had the office check to see if Harold's parents,Wesley and Esther and H & R's 3 girls Phyllis,Esther, and Elizabeth were there. They were not, but on record they had a grave reserved for Elizabeth Palmatier but no recording that she had died or was even buried there. I am assuming she is buried else where. I forgot to have them check to see if Rebecca's parents ( Frederick and Florence Saunders) were there.

RE: Joseph B Wood
Hi, I looked at back of the Joseph/Miriam headstone today and there is another family inscribed there:

Philip McDaniel, 1907-4 Jan 1996, plot U-24
Lucile G. McDaniel, 2 Apr 1916-1 Jul 2006, plot U-24

It is not uncommon in this cemetery to have inscriptions on both sides. The people interred are usually related.

RE: Joseph B Wood
I neglected to look at the back of the monument, sometimes military plaques are placed there. I will go back soon and look for a plaque. Cemetery records indicate plot U-24 contains:
Joseph B Wood b. 1908 d. 31 May 1973
Miriam E Wood b. 25 May 1914 d. 15 Feb 2007

Transfers complete! If I remember correctly, there may have been a few markers in this area that were faded and hard to read. That could have been the case with Levi Wood. I've kept the info you sent about him and I'll check again when we get back to NY. It will help now that I have his name to compare to the markers! I'll get back in touch with you sometime late August! Take care!

Emily & James Wood
Hi Larry! I've transferred the Wood's to your care... and please let me know of any others I have created that you'd like to maintain and I'll send them as well! Feel free to use any photos you find of mine.. I'm glad to help! If you'd like have the original JPEG files I should be able to find them without a problem and can email them to you if you. If you find any other family members buried there and need photos... just let me know and I'll see if I can find them! Take care and enjoy tracing your family roots! It's very addicting!

Transfers made--happy to do it. Let me know if you'd like any others, or if you want me to look for other family members who may be at Oakwood (or at Saint Francis Cemetery, which is next to it).

Oak wood Cemetery, Mt. Kisco
Thanks for the info on the Woods family. I'll be happy to make additional corrections and links. I'm not related to this family--just happen to live nearby and walk through this cemetery.
