Found: Thomas Perryman Burial Location
Quenby:
Success! Using the information on Thomas Perryman's Death Certificate, I was able to track his body from the State Hospital, where he died, through the mortician that took possession of his body, to the cemetery where he was buried. He is buried in St. Michael's cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD. The cemetery director found him in the interment book, when I visited the cemetery yesterday. He is buried in the north side of the cemetery, but the interment book did not list the plot number or the grave number. In the interment book, there is a column labeled "Date of Death". The entry under that is December 27, 1915. I believe that is incorrect, and December 27 is actually the date of interment. So I believe the mystery of your great grandfather's resting place has been solved. I hope this pleases you. It has been a pleasure for me, and has given me many hours of brain stimulating activity. I am in possession of a copy of his death certificate, and would be happy to mail it to you. Please feel free to contact me any time. Best Regards, Les Smith

Thomas Perrymn Death Certificate
Quenby:

I am in Pierre South Dakoa today, so I went to the Department of Vital Records and obtined an informational copy of your great grandfather's death certificate. There is much vauable information on it, that I think you will want to see.

The top item on your list, I think, would be that he was transferred to Sioux Falls for burial. I will continue searching for info. from the various cemeteries to see if we can find him. In the meantime, would you like me to mail a copy of his death certificate to you?

Best Regards,

Les Smith

Hi! Would you mind deleting one of your duplicate photos of the Albee monument to allow room to upload another photograph of the site? There are two identical images of the monument posted by you on this memorial page. Thank you.

South Dakota Death Records
Quenby: I just found out that since 1912, the state of South Dakota has required that all county death certificates be sent to Pierre for archival. You may want to get that for your great-grandfather, if you haven't already. It might help you find his grave. The form is on the South Dakota Vital Records page. http://doh.sd.gov/records/assets/DeathRecordApp.pdf

RE: Thank you!
My Pleasure, Quenby. She is buried in a solo grave site, about 50 feet from Raymond and Jesse. I also took a picture of their headstone, in case you would like one.

Have been told this Cemetery has been completely photographed, perhaps not all are on yet. I am quite a way from Cato, will try to check with the man who told me this. It was over a year ago I was told that so will need to go back over another request when the man who told me said he would take care of that request and he did almost immediately.

The reason I asked, most of my kin are from Kershaw County, SC, which also included Lancaster years ago.My great-grandfather was Thomas Racine Horton.

At one time my grandfather told me that I was either kin to or my kin was kin to mine to everyone in Camden.Right now, My relative connection to Martha Jane is Mary Sarah Truesdale, her gma.

I am stuck on John, Thomas and Lavonia Payne.I have not been able to find them. The same with some of Sarah's children, Lillie A and Alice J. Farr.

Do you have any more info than that on find a Grave.

thank you, Judy

Are you kin to her? I have her in my database but much is missing on the children and grandchildren. We like to be as complete and accurate as possible on every one we have. Thank you, Judy

RE: Else Family
Quenby,

I've seen way too many errors on Ancestry.com family trees--many people just copy what others have done before them, and some of it is erroneous*--so, I don't have a subscription. But, I do use the trees for general info and further research. I'll check it out next time I'm at the library. Do you have a name for your tree?

Donna

*E.g., Johnathan Else's headstone in Mascall Cemetery: the displayed photo is not Johnathan; it is Abram Berry. I'm trying to get it corrected, but it's taking time. In the meanwhile, people are copying and posting the photo to their family trees. Don't know how THAT will ever get corrected :(

Johnathan & Mary Else; Eliz Mascall
I'm trying to understand the thread of emails from March 2013 re: Johnathan & Mary Else. Do you know where Johnathan is buried, and/or where and when he died? I was recently (3 weeks ago) at Mascall Cemetery, and there is no visible stone for Johnathan.

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

We are still working to identify all the graves at
Inland and make a plat map. Even though I have walked the cemetery several times I am hoping to have access to an old plat map soon.

If I find any of your family's markers I will put them on FindAGrave.

William Ransom Payne
Hi, Quenby.

My research indicates William was the son of Calvin Payne (#82157133) and Martha Jane Horton (#32378046.

Calvin Payne's father was Chesley Payne.

RE: Thanks so Much!
Your welcome, sorry it took so long I took these a few years ago, and forgot to upload them!! Do you know her ancestry? She is I think a sister to my ancestor Elizabeth Neeves Mascall. I also noticed you have a Stephen Cady, I believe I have his family in my tree also, Lyman S. Cady son of a Stephen Cady, married Anna Mascall.
