Jan, hi. With all the great help you gave me before, may I ask you question. On the above tombstone and under the date of death it looks like another set of numbers, perhaps birth? If you have time would appreciate any help you can give me on this gentleman.

Thanks, Kaye

Mahoning Ave Pioneer Cemetery
Hi Jan,
Yesterday I actually walked over from the library to check out the cemetery sign. Currently there are 3 cemeteries listed in Finda. One listed merely as Pioneer Cemetery was created a few years ago by myself (naively) when I discovered my 3rd great grmo, Sarah(Kilpatrick) Lenney had been buried there in 1856.

There is a CORRECT version of this cemetery on Finda, "Mahoning Avenue Pioneer Cemetery". You might want to change your pages to this cemetery in the near future. I'm going to ask a more knowledgable contributor help me to delete my "Pioneer Cemetery" and the misspelled "Mahong Ave...." and transfer Mem pages to the correct cemetery. Make that the burials you added are not duplicates of burials in "Mahoning Avenue Pioneer Cemetery. It normally takes at least a month to have these corrections made.
Regards, Neal Gardner

Mahoning not Mahong
I don't know who created this cemetery, but it is Mahoning, not Mahong. Any idea who the creator is ? or how to have it changed ? I think this is also a duplicate of Pioneer Cemetery (Warren) that already exists, which is behind the Red Cross building overlooking the Mahoning River.

Duplicate Cemeteries
Hi Jan,

Since I see you live in Warren, perhaps you may be able to assist in resolving a duplicate cemetery situation I just came across. It seems The Old Mahoning (Pioneer) Cemetery has gotten entered twice here on Find A Grave, with duplicate memorials appearing as a result. The Find A Grave FAQ says:

"What if I notice that there are duplicate listings for the same cemetery in the same county and I know that there is only one?
Please use the cemetery fix/update forum ( to submit cemetery updates or non-members use We will merge the cemetery records into one listing. It is particularly helpful if you have an address for the cemetery (we can add that to the cemetery's record, too)."

I am not of the local area (I'm in Washington State), while the cemetery fix/update forum requests "you should have knowledge of the area for which you are requesting, DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING!!!," so I'm wondering if you would be kind enough to submit the request.

The information for the duplicates is as follows:

Old Mahoning Cemetery (

Mahong Avenue Pioneer Cemetery (

Thank you,

Memorial 77169892 George D. Dunkerton
Jan, I am making a memorial for GEorge's wife, Sarah. It looks like, on George's photo, that she died June 30, 1921. After I get the memorial done would it be possible for you to put the gravestones on hers also. Thank you.

George D.'s birthdate is March 03, 1846, Trumbull County,Ohio...probably North Bloomfield as it doesn't look like he left his mom and dad, Richard and Elizabeth Haine Dunckerton. Thanks.

Hi Jan Do you know when Augusta Valesky died? the date is not on her tombstone but it must have been after 1931 which is when her husband died. Kathi

Rose Hill OKC photo request
Hi Jan, I just added the photos for CLarke from Fairlawn Cemetery...Rose Hill is not far from where I work, BUT...THey are not very helpful with info to the volunteers :( but if you call and request lot and block they will give it to you, so when you get it let me know, I will try to fulfill it....I explained to the office manager what our mission was and that there are over 80 requests...(Problem?) she explained the person could call and could get upto five requests at no charge, then it was $5.00 per, I almost laughed out loud....(darn Yankee), but I offered to give her my printout of all the requests, and that maybe they could look them up at their convienence, instead of 50+ phone calls, she declined, GOOD LUCK!.....

Jan, thanks so much for the Dunkertons gravephotos.
They all look newer than the ones surrounding them.
I really appreicate the one of Richard and Elizabeth Haine Dunkerton. They came from England around 1832. All beautiful. So loving of you.

Hi Jan,
Welcome to the Find-a-Grave clan. I hope you will get as much enjoyment from this as I have. We are, for the most part, a friendly and helpful group, with a few old grumps thrown in for a little spice.
We owe so much to those who have recorded cemeteries in the past and copied inscriptions before they were lost. Etched in stone does not mean forever, and taking and posting photos of the markers will be one of our legacies.
