Henry B. (Sykes) Skyes
Hi Laura,
I think Henry's wife Louise is also buried in Elkhart. The next time you go walking, and I assume that will be after this winter ever ends, would you look to see if there are any other Sykes buried at Grace Lawn Cemetery?

RE: Holdeman, Bannatt, Bennett
Thanks for your HOLDEMAN looking. Please don't put any extra effort into that as it isn't really important.

Re Holdeman and Grace
Thank you very much for checking. This isn't really that important as I have Grace's date and place of death, Elkhart, Indiana d. Dec. 25, 1926. She would have been 43, died of cancer.
I know there were many Holdeman's in that area and I don't intend to search for William J. Holdeman as he may have moved away.

Thanks again I really appreciate your interest.

Holdeman, Bannatt, Bennett
I have a relative who died in Elkhart Indiana, Dec 25, 1926. This information is from old family letters but I have not found official records. It sounded as if she had cancer.
In her last letters she called herself Mrs. William Holdeman. Previously she called herself Grace Bannatt as that was the birth name according to her adoption papers, although the papers spelled her name Bannat. She had married Frank B. Walker in 1900 but that marriage broke up and she then called herself Grace Bannatt, but it appears she married William J. Holdeman.
She could have in actuallity been Grace A. Bennett at birth.
Do not know what Cemetery she was buried in but it would seem to be near Elkhart City, perhaps Grace Lawn Cemetery. She had at times been at Osceola but it would seem doubtful that would be where she was buried.
Not much info for you but grasping at straws.
