Henry Lark gravestone photo
Thank you for taking a more recent photo of Henry Lark's gravestone. He was my husband's great-grandfather.

In photographing his stone, did you, perhaps, notice any dislocated or damaged Lark gravestones in that cemetery? I am researching this family and, per other searchers, family members, etc., I am told some of his children are buried there. I know several graves were relocated some time ago, and can vaguely remember (from a visit we made up there several years ago) smaller stones that had been misplaced and / or somewhat damaged. I didn't know of other Lark graves supposedly there at the time,
Since then I have (tentatively) created memorials for three of them, based on what I was told. Of course these can be deleted if this is proved wrong.

I hope to get back to South Carolina, perhaps in the fall, but after seeing your photo I realized you have been there after the cemetery was cleared.

Please contact me, either on findagrave or at

Again, thanks for a more recent photo.

Gaines Chapel -- Mattison
Keith -- There is a photo you added to the memorial of Robert Boyd Mattison on 27 Mar 2012 (link): In R. Wayne Bratchner's book he transcribed Robert Boyd's DOD as 17 Aug 1857, and I do know that there are errors in his book. However, upon close examination of the photo on Robertís memorial the DOD on this gravestone looks like it reads 24 Mar 1857 and gives the child's age as 5 yrs, 9 months and 9 days. I cannot read the name at all.

But, on 31 Aug 2015 Conway Wilson Shirley recorded a memorial for Emma Mattision with that exact DOD and age of death. Link to Emma:

So I was wondering if you might be able to check your photo and if you think it may be Emmaís gravestone and not Robertís then perhaps you will re-post it to Emmaís? But if you are certain it's Robert's could you let me know? Thank you

Thank you and Request
Keith Brown: Thank you for finding and taking the photo of Bill Ray Hendrix # 87538330.
I noticed that in the photo it also shows on the gravestone William E. Hendrix # # 87538817.
Would it be possible for you to put this photo on William's memorial as well?
Thank you for all your work on this site.
Best Wishes,

RE: Ellen Black Vaughn
I'm sorry I don't have any info on her. Carol Renfro took the photo and she goes to that church. Maybe they can help you.

Have a wonderful day!

John King
Gaines Chapel Cemetery
Keith, I noted your images from the Gaines Chapel Cemetery and particulary the image of Ann George Gaines' headstone. Did you take these images? I've traveled the roads of Donalds many times looking for this cemetery. Could you give me a detail description of where you found it.

Ann George Gaines
Thank you for posting the picture of Ann George Gaines. She would be my 5th great-grandmother. Looks to be a very small cemetery and the stones are very worn. Her husband was a Revolutionary War Veteran.
I live in SW Missouri, if I can photo anything for you I would be happy to.

RE: Maw's
Hello Keith,
Thank you, I'm sorry you went through all of this for no marker. I would be happy to have the photographs. If I may ask, if you would also upload the foot markers for them on the Memorials. At least it's something.
Thank you again, you have a great day!!
