Lingenhoel Family
Hello again, Sonja,

I love the old pictures on your memorials. I wish I had pictures of my ancestors.

I find it so fascinating that you are searching for your ancestors in Pittsburgh. So many of us are searching for our ancestors in Germany!

In any event, I thought you might not be aware that has obtained the death certificates for Pennsylvania from 1906 (when record keeping began by the state) until 1963. Later death records are restricted by privacy laws. Because I am very familiar with the area in which your family lived, it was easy for me to find and attach death certificates for several of your family members: Friedericke Lingenhoel; Minnie Eckert; John Eckert; Gertrude Eckert; Johann Georg (George J) Lingenhoel; Sylvia Lingenhoel; Charles Greb; Clarence Jones; Dorothy Greb; Rose Muller; Clarence Muller; and John Muller. Since privacy laws change, my best advice would be to print a copy of the death certificates for your personal file, just in case they decide later to restrict access to this information. If you need any further assistance, just let me know. As for the grave pictures, the Lingenhoels may not have headstones. However, I hope to go to Pittsburgh in the spring and I will be happy to look for them if no one else finds them before I get there. My grandparents are buried in Ridgelawn Cemetery, so I will definitely be there if I make the trip as planned.

Best regards,

Guten Tag, Sonja,

I posted the death certificate for Johann Georg Lingenhoel on his memorial. I saw from reading the memorial that you are not sure where he is buried. The death certificate says St. Peter's Cemetery, which is the former name of Ridgelawn Cemetery. George John, as he was listed on the death certificate, last lived on the North Side of Pittsburgh.

My roots are in Germany, and I am pleased to be of any help to you. I grew up in the North Side area, so it is familiar to me.

Feel free to move the death certificate to a lower place on the memorial, if you wish.

Best regards,

RE: Jesion Graves
Added Edward V Jesion, Marjanna "Mary" Krzeminski, Marian Proszkiewicz (picture bad I will get another one, on a cloudy day).

4 babies in a row by main marker. They might not be buried there. Not listed in database. These could be memorial stones.

Margin Jesion 1893-1893 (can't read death year, bright sun)(guessing 1893), Jan Jesion 1892-1893, Maranna Jesion 1882-1884, Anniela Jesion 1885-1887.

I added the plot picture to all who are buried in the plot.

Mary Anne Soboezinski Tischer
Mepmycyna Sobocinska, Find A Grave Memorial# 135023892

Is buried in the same plot. Could this be her mother?

I will go back to the plot and check again for this surname or something close.

There was a wooden marker for a baby Tischer, 1953 I added that and the 2 sons Vincent and Raymond.

Polish names can drive you nuts. I been working on my mother side and their names are driving me nuts.

I will put up the Jesion's tomorrow. I am fizzing out.

Sonja -- thanks for making this entry. I added updated photos of the headstone with the updates for my dad, including the newly installed Veteran's plaque on the back.

I know exactly where his stone is. I believe his wife is on it also.
It is an old, beautiful, tall one that I can only get a good picture of it on the right time of day.
It is still winter here (almost spring) so I am sure there is snow around it. It is supposed to snow today so it is very dark out. But I will go get a picture today and show you. But when it is a sunny day I will go back, clean and get you a good readable picture for the memorial.

I have another Find A Grave friend in Germany. She is from

You're very welcome. Her stone is in remarkably good shape, unlike that of Adam Schweigert (your other post).

I checked with the office to find Ethel's burial date because your date differed on the year with the marker date. Her burial date was 02-17-1982. You should put in a edit for the year date. It is always fun when you can get validation of a date you thought was right so it can be corrected that is what I love about genealogy.

Voelkel et al
Guten Abend, Sonja,

I am still posting pictures for St. John's Lutheran Cemetery and realized I have a photo of three graves together-George, his wife, and I guess her second husband, Eugene Pfund. I apologize for the car in the background. These graves are on top of the hill and you can see the Voelkel grave marker in the ground near the graves.

Since you are actively searching these relatives, you could ask for transfers from Rob Minteer, who created them. He transferred the memorials of my relatives who were buried in this cemetery to me. With a transfer, you would be free to add or delete material or photos as you wish.

Thank you for your kind offer to look for my relatives. All of my ancestors were German and maybe in the future, I'll know better where to start looking.

Mit freundlichen Grussen,

Hello, Sonja,

I posted a picture for Mary Hoellerman Pfund, who is buried in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Spring Hill, Pittsburgh, PA. Since you were looking for the Hoellermans, you might also be looking for her.

Best regards,

Hi, Sonja, you are so very welcome! My sister and I scouted the cemetery, which is steep, even by Pittsburgh standards. Luckily, your relatives had large monuments and were not difficult to find. Someday, I hope to find my German ancestors.

Mit freundlichen grussen,,

Patrizia ( as my German teacher calls me)

You are very welcome , sorry there are no other markers for Glendennings on that plot, so I took it as a family marker.

Greb in Ridgelawn
Hello. I wanted to let you know that I have taken your requested photos for Charles and Elizabeth Greb. In the process, I have also found a son for them, William. He is buried right next to them. I created a memorial for him already and his headstone is up for you to view.

Take Care - Jennifer
