Margaretha Endres Marx
I saw the wonderful picture you have of Margaretha (Endres) Marx on Find A Grave #127174052. Wondering if she is in your family tree? I have a picture of her sister Anna Mary (Endres) Schuster, the two sisters side by side look like twins! Anna "Mary" married Peter Schuster and lived in North Ottawa, Grant County, MN. Her Find A Grave # is 171285448. She is my 2nd great-grandmother and I would love to share any information and photo I have of Mary in hopes to gain some information from you as well. You can email me at:
Thank you,
P.S. I would love to use this picture with your permission to show other members of my family.

You posted a very nice photo for husband - and now there's a photo request for wife. Thought you might want to just copy your photo to her page before we make a special trip out there.

RE: Emilie Maile Gensmer
EAK...sorry, I DO remember writing/speaking to "a relative", just didn't put EAK with whomever it was (I'm not sure I kept a record of your name at that time..probably have it on my email contacts or in my "deep" list of papers to file.) Can you give me your name or email me at Did we figure out if Edward Alried. Kenney was actually a child of Ida and Edward K's? Lived one month, according to my records. Also are you related to Ralph or Howard? I show Kenney marriage as 23 Sep 1917, but also saw 23 Jun 1917 somewhere, maybe you can verify that. The marriage certificate you got, I assume was of Edw K and not Edw N. I appreciate any research you have done on this family and would love to compare or share, e.g. I show Edward Neuman and Ida marrying 12 Oct 1963 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Beaver a chapel there, do you know why there?

I guess I'm upset with FindAGrave....they are merging all duplicate memorials and sometimes losing all of the information I have put on since the git go. (I didn't realize this was a rule until after I had posted all of my relation; therefore, dupes.) They don't care which one has the most info on it, they just merge and whichever one stays, stays, blank info or not. I'm ready to quit posting on their site. I see too many with errors or misinformation and it gets frustrating. Hopefully, I didn't take it out on you. As long as I can add photos, or edit like you say, that's fine; it's just that I was trying to get all of the children of Emil and Emilie under my maintenance. But I see your position too, so leave as is.

Do you have any photos to share, I would love to have any at all; it just seems the younger generation I speak to just aren't that interested in genealogy like the older generations, so it's difficult to comeby photos or stories, etc. Is your tree on

Well thanks EAK...hopefully I will remember this next time. Old age I guess :-) Thanks for responding.

Emilie Maile Gensmer
Would like to maintain the memorial on findagrave for Emilie Maria "Mailey" Gensmer. I am her great granddaughter, and all the information (bio, links, photos) other than Death Notice is information I had originally put on a memorial for her on findagrave. I would appreciate your transferring her to me so that I can correct the spelling of her maiden name and add other things, as wels as make the "Deaths" notice smaller, so it doesn't detract. Thank you so much....Judy N. Bos-Parsons #46626223. P.S. I have memorials for the entire family to include parents, children, grandchildren on find-a-grave. Are you related somehow?

Oligney family
My wife is the third oldest daughter of William Oligney (Bill). Your grandmother is her Aunt Marion. My wife Susan was very excited to see the pictures and newspaper clip of the Oligney family poisoned by mushrooms. She recalls her dad talking about that several times. Susan would love to see other material you have of the family. Thank you.

Enos & Daniel Warn
I am contacting you on behalf of the 13th Michigan Memorial Association. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the members of the 13th Michigan Veteran Volunteer Infantry. Enos and Daniel were both members of the unit. We are currently trying to collect as much information as possible about all the men of the 13th. We want to know where they came from, what they did in the war and what happened to them after. We currently have over 3200 pages of letters, diaries, official reports and period newspaper articles. We will gladly share anything we have at no cost. Do you have any information on Enos or Daniel you would be willing to share? I can check our files to we if we have any information on them. We send out a free quarterly newsletter via email and would be happy to add you to our list, if you are interested.
Thank you,
Marianne Lancaster

RE: Marie Oligney Love

You are welcome to use the photo of my great-grandmother Odile Marie Oligney [Johnson] Love on your family tree on Please acknowledge me as the source (so that it is in's records for the image). My goal is to ensure that the photo is available to any relative, no matter how distant, who wants to use it - I would not want anyone to think it was owned by Ancestry and not available for their use.

I have other photos of Marie, but they are snapshots from when she was older and include other family members (my grandmother, my mother and me). The one I posted is the only portrait photo. Also, Marie's first marriage was to Andrew Peter Johnson. I have requested edits to the memorials that will show first and second spouses, but these have not been made yet.

I especially appreciated seeing the obituary for Marie's mother that you posted on Marguerite Raymond Oligney's memorial (which lists my great-grandmother as Mrs. Odile Johnson).

I have a question for you: I noticed that you have a memorial for Joseph Oligney II which is shown as a "non-cemetery burial" because the burial records are not been found yet. I have considered doing this for some of my other direct line relatives whose parents' and childrens' burials are known and are on F.A.G. Have you received any feedback from other F.A.G. members on this approach?

Best regards,

Rob Ralston

Thank you for the photos of their headstones. How did you locate the graves? I haven't been to this cemetery.

Van R. Bentley Cenotaph
Thank you very much for locating and photographing the cenotaph of Pvt. Van R. Bentley! I am working on a website that is documenting every soldier that served in the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry and each soldier will have their own page with a biography along with any pictures and documents that can be found about them. I was wondering if you might allow permission to use your pictures of the cenotaph on his page? It would really add quite a lot and would help any descendants or researchers looking to find more information. If you do not, I completely understand. Would you mind sending me an email to discuss the pictures? I am curious if you might have other shots of his cenotaph that you could send. I could not find your email address on your profile.

Thank you very much for all your time and help. I appreciate it very much,

Nathan Spa(u)lding
Hi E II,
Thanks so much for the fantastic 3 photo series of Nathan's monument. It allowed me to see and correct his birth year. I LIKE it when somebody knows what they're doing! Thanks again,

Ida Gensmer
Thanks Edward for telling me about the correction needed on Ida Gensmer's memorial on "find a grave"...I corrected it, since my tree also says 1967. I show Ralph Kenney as dying 4 Dec 2000 in Stoughton, Dane, WI. Born 27 Mar 1921.

I show Howard Kenney as b. 10 Mar 1923, d. 9 Mar 1991. Do you know where in WI he was born (I just show WI) or died? (I show Equality, Coosa, AL).

Have you figured out who the other Edward A. Kenney was yet? Only lived a month...sad. Boy, Ida was busy with her pregnancies in that timeframe, if he is related. I bet he was a brother to Ralph and Howard. I don't see any big epidemics for that year. I'll search for a death certificate on him...maybe that would show the parents.

If you run across any info, it would be appreciated even if its a duplicate of mine.
