|Beverly Barham||Henry Charles Gunn|
Thank you for all you do for Find A Grave. I have found many of my relatives through your Memorials. I have noted the incorrect birth place on Henry Charles Gunn's memorial. Henry was my 2nd great uncle. Unfortunately, I never knew him. He was born in Brookings, SD.
From the South Dakota, Birth Index, 1856-1915:
Name Henry Charles Gunn
Birth Date 6 Oct 1881
Birth Place Brookings, South Dakota, USA
File Date 8 Jul 1941
Father James Gunn
Mother Bridget Frances Foley

For some unknown reason the link for Henry Gunn's father's memorial (149663618) seems to be broken. Would it be possible to remove and re-add the memorial link to see if that would fix the issue?

|Mary S.||RE: Joseph Harper and Mary Wood Family|
Thanks for the acknowledgment, Arlene! It's nice to hear once in a while. ;-) And I'm glad it was some help.
To be honest, though, I found this couple very difficult to research. I wondered, in fact, if the dates were correct, given that the marker obviously was created long after they died (a replacement, maybe?).
Unfortunately, the cemetery doesn't have complete records for that period, although you might want to check with them anyway. I did find the following record, which I wondered about. Not saying it's definitely him, just that it might be worth looking into. The dates are off, but the age and place of birth are correct.
in 1910, Joseph is still alive!
And here they are in 1900:
and in 1880:
and Mary's parents are living with them.
And, for what it's worth - not sure if this is the correct couple, but, in case it's helpful, there is this marriage:
Note the spelling of "Arper." Certainly the date and places are about right.
Good luck! If there's anything else I can do, just let me know. And, if you come up with any further info to add, I'll be thrilled! :-) It's crazy, but I get so involved with some of these families - LOL!
All the best,

In case you have a personal connection to Rudolph, I want to let you know that I added a photo to his memorial:
The caption contains a link to his naturalization documents. That's where I got his place of birth information that I submitted to you.
I have no connection to Rudolph, I just find things online and pass them on :)

I will be happy to photo the graves you requested; however we just received 10" of snow so it may be a week or so until it melts. Thanks for providing the lot information; it makes it much easier. Hope to have some photos for you soon.

Henry is my great grandfather. I've not been able to locate any documentary evidence of a middle name. Can you tell me what the source of "Isidore" is, please?

Any time - sorry, I missed Leo. There's still a little time before the snow.
I would have thought Charlotte would have gone by the last hubb, too. But then, her son was buried right next to her and John. However, her other son, Kenneth was quite a ways away and had no spouse with him. I found his stone purely by accident and snapped a pic - reading the obit on Charlotte's mem helped me determine that Storm was Char's son and also verified the birth date on the stone since the obit posted also had the 1909 date.
Enjoy the fun of searching!!

Please make individual requests for spouses - I think I got most of them, but without the individual request, I'm not sure I'm getting the right one since there are no dates to confirm with. It helps the hunt in the field go a lot faster. Trying to get up that way today.

|None to be Forgotten||Lyman|
I was unable to find Bernard Lyman, either by general search or in the same cemetery. I suggest the following: call the church and see if they know; call the funeral home as they would have to know; it should be listed on his death cert. or go to www.usgenweb.com, click on Iowa and then the county he was last known to have lived in - might be there. Good luck!

The Catholic Cemetery is on the NW corner of Fairlawn Cemetery. There is a picture of the gate on the Fairlawn link, but I can take another and attach it to the St. Williams link. There is also a monument at the front of the St. Williams section, I will take a photo of that next time I go out that way.

He was entered as a courtesy. Are you related? glad to transfer if you want him. Let me know.
