I was wondering if you are on Ancestry.com. My husband is also a Collier with Jesse as an ancestor. His line goes from Jesse to James P. to Henry J to James T.

RE: Peter and Elizabeth Becker
You are very welcome. The graves are normally shaded so I was lucky to have the sun shining just at that angle.

When I posted the photos I noticed that the memorials weren't linked yet and that other information was missing, so I am hoping that you might be able to submit edits to fill in some of the blanks. It would be interesting to see how all these people are related!

Best wishes,
Flutterby

Mayford McMahan
Hi Brenda:

I added the photo of Mayford McMahan's marker. His wife's marker is next to his, but there was no death date listed, so I didn't make a photo. I'd be happy to go back and do so if you want.

Peter Becker
Published in the Daily News Batavia, N. Y. Monday, May 16, 1921 (very hard to read)

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Becker of No. 19 Pringle avenue are quietly celebrating their golden wedding anniversary today. They were married on May 16, 1871, at St. Pius Catholic church at Perkinsville, Steuben county. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Gruber.

Mr. Becker was born near Saarbeucken, Bermany on January 25, 1847. Mrs. Becker, whose maiden name was Eliasbeth Gaise, was born near Wurtemberg, Germany, on January 25, 1852. Mr. Becker came to America in 1866 and Mrs. Becker came with her parents when two years of age. Thirteen children were born to them, nine of whom are living. They have five sons, Frank E., Fred M., William L., and Edward H. Becker of Avon; four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Waskey of New Britain, Conn., Mrs. Emma Wheeler of Avon and Mrs. Margaret Ireland and Miss Regina T. Becker of Batavia, and 15 grandchildren. Mrs. Becker has been confined to her bed for the past six weeks and today her condition was serious. The health of Mr. Becker has been poor for some time.

I saw your photo request, can't fill that because I am not near Batavia, but thought I would look and see if I could find any info on him.

Published in "The Times", Batavia, New York exact date cut off 1924

Peter Becker The funeral of Peter Becker, a former well known Batavian, who died on Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Wheeler of Avon, was held in Batavia on Wednesday morning from St. Mary's church at 9:30 o'clock and burial took place in St. Joseph's cemetery. Mr. Becker, who was 87 years old, resided until a short time ago in Batavia since 1876. He was a molder by trade and came here with the Wiard Plow Company. When Mr. Becker came to America in 1866 he was on a voyage fourteen weeks. Cholera broke out on board ship and as he did not have the disease he was obliged to remain on deck constantly in order not to be exposed by those in the cabin. He joined the Batavia fire department in 1882, and at the time of his death was an exempt fireman. Mr. Becker is the father of thirteen children, nine of whom are living.

Brenda,
Disregard the note I sent in regards to Myrtle and Collins....'fraid I had a senior moment...lol I remember Collins and could have swore that Allen Joiner said that was his brother. Something was off somewhere...one day maybe I will learn what "Joiner" Collins comes from.

RE: Leila Blanche Culpepper
You are most welcome. My research on the Culpepper family is due to my husband's gg grandmother, Mary Angeline Culpepper-daughter of Benjamin & Nancy Horne Culpepper. Mary Angeline married Robert Davis Sinclair. Mary Angeline died 4/18/1893 in Omega, Worth County, Georgia-she, her husband and others of their family were buried in Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Tifton, Tift Cty, Ga. Robert Davis Sinclair was the first burial in that cemetery. He was a country doctor.

Re: Leila Blanche Culpepper
Brenda, the link you have with mother Georgia Mae Collier is not for the right Leila Blanche Culpepper. You or whoever posted that link, linked it to a Leila Courson Ogden. The right Leile was born 4/15/1910 and died 4/4/1958 in Nash County, NC. I found her death certificate. No one has posted that findagrave burial. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont, Gaston County, North Carolina. I thought you might want to fix it.

RE: George Joiner photo
Brenda, you are very welcome. Today I added Lillian Joiner and her husband Deuelle J Joiner. They have not put her dates on the stone. I also added W.Blanch Joiner Sept.29 1901-July 11 1989. and J.L.Joiner Sept.27 1897-Feb.9 1950. They are next to each other so I'm thinking they are the same family. There are many Joiners in town, if you need anything else please let me know.
