When you left flowers on Mary's memorial, you indicated that you were a cousin. I manage the memorial for her mother Pricilla (Bonifield) Bridgman Rush, who's in the New Lexington Cemetery where Mary is buried in Perry Co., OH. Do you know who Pricilla's parents would have been? I'm distantly related through Mary's half sister Hester and step-father Samuel D. Rush. Sharon

You left a flower for little Mary (Find A Grave # 14498566) who is buried at Sharon Chapel stating she is your cousin.  I'm trying to figure out if she fits in with my Burton clan.  Do you know where her parents are buried and/or who Riley's parents were?  Thanks!

I saw that you left a flower on Oringie C Waterman's memorial. Are you related to him by any chance? Also, do you know if he went by Gus?

RE: Georgia R. Ebert
Dixie, the answer is yes, her maiden name is Webber. I have newspaper articles to mail to you from the Milan Standard. My email is If you send me a personal email with your address, I'll mail them to you.

Additionally, since I've documented all of Oakwood Cemetery, there is a family plot of 6 where Georgia and William are buried. Included, also, are Cleo Mearl Webber (her brother) and Myrtle R. and George B. Pickett (her mother and her mother's husband). It looks like they sold the final resting place to a person with the last name Cotton. (Cotton may have purchased from the neighboring's very difficult to tell.)

Hope this helps. I have the papers on my table ready to mail to you.

I will put this in my 'fun things to work on' pile. I'm headed back to work for the new school year and these next few weeks are very, very busy. Sara

Received your edit suggestion linking him to James & Nellie as parents. Would you let me know a verifiable source of that information so I can note it on bio? Thanks!

RE: Goldie Fern (Bridge) Gay
Dixie, it has been corrected and being transferred back to you. There are several things that can cause this to happen. I noticed by what you had typed in it looks like you indented the beginning of each paragraph, which it will not do. To separate the paragraphs you need to have a space between them. This was probably part of the reason for the all the blank space.

Goldie Fern (Bridge) Gay
Dixie, recently I was checking on the children of Ezra and Laura (Miller) Bridge when I noticed a memorial had been added for Goldie and her husband. I requested grave markers for them which have now been added.

I did notice that the memorial for Goldie had a large plank space between her bio and the rest. If you transfer to me I will be glad to correct this for you and send back.
Thanks, Louise 47677075

RE: monument
Hi, Cousin!

You and Kathi are distant cousins through your Stotts line. Stella is her 1st cousin, three times removed. I had a feeling you might be related. Kathi is related to about 90% of those buried at Sharon Chapel.

So you would like the stone lifted, the old concrete taken out and replaced, and the stone reset. Right?

We photographed the cemetery a couple of years ago and it didn't look too bad. At least the stone was solid and sitting straight. Better than MANY of them!

I'll make a couple of phone calls and will get back to you.

See ya!

Hi, Dixie!
Yes...we live in Harrison County. I don't know of anyone off the top of my head but could probably make a few phone calls.

Out of curiosity, who is your grandfather and what needs to be done with the stone?

See ya!

Please remove the flower with genealogical data from this memorial and advise if you would like it added to the bio. According to instructions
genealogical data is not to be placed with flowers and we should respect this. Flowers are only to show love and respect for the deceased. Genealogical info belongs in the bio of the memorial. Thank you, Louise

The message with a flower you recently placed on this memorial is genealogical data that can be added to the bio, but does not belong with a flower or token of love and respect. I will be glad to include in the bio, if you would like, but please remove from the flower.
Thank you, Louise

Mathew Anderson Dukes was the brother of my 2nd great grandfather, William Charles Dukes Sr. Mathew's first 4 sons are the only ones that dropped the s at the end of Dukes. Family oral history says that they thought they might inherit some of the North Carolina tobacco Duke fortune, but it was not meant to be. No proof has ever been found that we are closely related to that family.
another Family oral history is that when Laura Malissa, Mathew's first wife died Mathew said "Now there is only 1 why do we need the S? This to me seems highly unlikely...I bet we will never really know why White, Walker, Wilson & Coulter dropped the s at the end of Dukes...

RE: duplicate memorial
Here is a tip, now don't take this wrong...When you see a memorial, and you KNOW it is in the wrong cemetery, the right thing to do is contact that contributor and tell them them to move that memorial to the correct cemetery. NOT to create a newer memorial...
Please use the edit feature on the memorial you are referring to, and I will transfer.

I was just wondering if you were going to sent the obits for John and Chester Price?

RE: Chester & John Price
Can you tell me where you got the obits? Or maybe if you send them I can post them on their memorials.

You sent me an update to add the parents, but I can not find death certificates or census records with Roy and Edith Price. Where did you get your information?
