Sarah Collier and James Crumby
Hi! I hope this helps with research! Sarah Collier, daughter of Amos Collier, married James K Crumby. He did not marry Nancy. They were married in Guntown, MS, and microfilm of their marriage license/bond should be viewable in the Jacinto library archives. Old Tishomingo/Prentiss/Alcorn County archived vital records were moved there in the 1970s. Sarah also appears on MS and TN censuses with James, not Nancy. The Collier families grew into a large clan, and they recycled names so often that lines are crossed very easily! It was common to see cousins of the same ages with the same names.

RE: Joseph Louis Cheruvront Bible
I just sent off an application for my daughter using Eva Bible. Along with the application I also included a detailed "critical analysis" as to why Stephanie did NOT copy the genealogical data of 40 families into the Bible.

I am very hopeful that DAR will accept what I sent because there is NO possible way that Stephanie knew the birth date of Eva. There is no record of it in the US and there is no record of it in Europe because Don Bible went 2 or 3 times to Germany and it could NOT be found although records for the other family members was there. I told DAR only Eva could have told Joseph Cheuvront her birth date. LOL NOT Stephanie.

RE: Thomas Treadway Byrd
Thanks for the information. One of the Thomas T. Bird's had "Thomas Taylor Bird" and we all thought the three Thomas T. Birds were Thomas Taylor but apparently not. I have been to the old home place of Thomas T. Bird and Sadie Downs in Detroit, Marion Co., AL and have pictures of his old place. It was a log cabin and someone tore the siding off of it, left it and took the logs. The foundation was large rocks. Also, Their son, John Kirk Byrd lived not far from there and the people who owned their log house sold it to someone in Columbus, MS and they did the same thing. Someone had built a larger house around the logs and they tore it down and took the logs to Columbus, MS and erected it there, so I was told by the people who owned the property at the time. The distance between the Thomas Bird house in Marion Co., AL and the John Kirk Byrd in Splunge, MS is about 8 miles. I'll be happy to send you some pictures if you have not been there or seen them.

Elizabeth McCarver
RE: Elizabeth Sanderson and Drury Thrift
Hi Patricia, Thanks for your reply. It would be interesting if more of Elizabeth Sanderson's descendants had their DNA tested through Ancestry DNA. We could connect on Possibly other descendants would have the Native American DNA in their results. The closer the descendant to her, the more of her DNA would likely be inherited. My 82 year old dad is her 3rd great grandson. Both of his grandfathers were Elizabeth's descendants giving him twice the odds of inheriting her DNA. His DNA revealed that he is 94% Great Britain, with no Native American DNA. Having said this, I must admit that we, too, have had the idea passed down though our line that Millie Thrift (Elizabeth's daughter and our ancestor) was Native American. Do you know if any of her direct descendants have had their DNA tested? I would truly like to explore this further. Let's continue this conversation. I welcome all responses.

Elizabeth Sanderson and Drury Thrift
Hi Patricia,
Elizabeth Sanderson and Andrew "Drury" Thrift were my 4th great grandparents. I have researched this family for a number of years including traveling to Wilson and Sumner Counties to research in their respective Archives. I believe that Wade Sanderson was the brother of Elizabeth Sanderson, not the foster father. He did leave assets to the children of Elizabeth Sanderson including Millie Thrift, my 3rd great grandmother. I've not located any record of Wade Sanderson having his own biological children. Both Wade Sanderson and Elizabeth Sanderson were the children of William Sanderson and Millie Wade. Also, I'm not aware that Elizabeth Sanderson was of Native American descent. Several descendants have participated in Ancestry DNA including my father, myself, and a first cousin of my father. No Native American DNA was reported in any test results. Please respond to this email. I am a member of Find-A-Grave and would welcome your feedback.

Joseph Louis Cheruvront Bible
Looking for location of the bible in 2015. Also, there was a book supposed to be written by Stephanie Wolfley-Mitchell who was his descendant.

DAR has closed the once accepted application for Maria Eva. I am wanting to get her reinstated.

I am a descendant of Adam thru his son Christian who moved to Greene Co. TN.

Battle of Flodden

I saw that you have lot of info on the Gerard family dating back all the way to the late middle ages. With sir Thomas Gerard who supposedly died in 1523, it is mentioned that he died at the battle of Flodden in Northumberland in november of 1523. However, the actually battle of flodden took place in 1513, in September 10 years earlier. I am greatful for your research/information, but I think something isn't right.

I received an email from someone overseeing
McGraw Cemetery and I was told the Plat Records
Book for this cemetery has never been located,
or that it was kept in a shed on the grounds,
and the shed burned down with the records book.

Posting this for others information.

That is sad to hear she died on her honeymoon. Would love to see the picture of her. Can you email it to me? My email is Thanks for sharing the information you have about her.

RE: Marguerite Guenther
The dates do match exactly. I was unable to find a death certificate for Marguerite using the Oelkers name. But, that doesn't mean it could not be her. I would say yes it is Marguerite the daughter of Charles Frederick Guenther. Thanks for asking.
