RE: John Wright m Grace Glascock
Interesting. I guess I can contact the museum and see if this information is still accurate or it it's one of the instances that they mention was originally recorded but subsequently proved inaccurate.

Right... you're memorial says this: Son of Thomas of Brook Hall Wright 1548-1617 and Roberdye Pake 1550-1603
NAFH says that his parents are Robert Wright and Mary Green.
So I'm confused by your email...

I'm interested to know why you have his parents as you do. North American Family Histories has his parents as Robert Wright and Mary Green. I've been on the website cited on the memorial and cannot find the information as you have it recorded.

Thank you for the correction about Robert's military record. Yvonne had transferred management over to me with that info on it. I did not read it closely. My fault.
Thanks again,Dix

RE: William Reasoner
The grave marker in Buena Vista Cemetery has Mrs. C. Reasoner.
Also, there are no records of a child being born in Calaveras Co. (Douglas Flat) to William Scott Reasoner and Mary Cox, so I am not sure where that information comes from exceopt from an unsourced family tree on Ancestry.
Birth records for those early years in Calaveras Co. and almost non existent and our best bet to find a birth, marriage or death is often the newspaper of that day, but we have no 1853 newspapers at the county archives and a birth in Douglas Flat in 1853 would not be likely to show in a newspaper anyway. Mostly killings were what made the little papers back then.

I have not yet submitted my tree to Ancestry, but would love be to see any pictures of his wife. Phillip had an infant child when he was killed in the war. I have a email contact with his gr grandchild Shawn Howes if you are interested.

James B Stephens
I added a photograph of the headstone for James B. Stephens in the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow, Montana. His is one of the gravesites you manage.

RE: Richard Wright
Richard Wright has no headstone.
Do you know who his parents are?
Did he have a middle name?
With a little more information I could do some research here.....Peggy

James Berry Stephens
I have deleted my entry and have requested a contributor link his daughter, Daisy Hogan, to James. You might want to put in a request for a photo of James' gravestone. Can't be sure there still is one, but he was an important man and I would think his gravestone would be substantial. I am having difficulty finding his other children.

RE: Boughman Pics

Has a listing of everyone that's supposed to be up there. I searched everywhere carefully and did not find some of these graves. At some point they must have had markers or records.

There is a Maxwell and some Dunnings and Urbans, but no Dukes. I think there are a couple of Duke women up there, but buried under husbands' names. Also some Merians. In the listing, at that web site, "Fredie W. Yerian" is actually Freddie W. Merian. "Fracie" is "Gracie." Also I think Henry Adrian might be Henry Urban. Anna Gorley, who like her sister Cora died young, is on the Gorley stone but not in the listing. Also I think a GAR vet named Cornelius Hurley is in that cemetery. His wife was Mary Gorley but she doesn't seem to be with him. There's another GAR vet, David Todd, who was married to a Williams but she isn't buried with him. There is a "D J Bunton" who I'd guess is a "Buxton" but no sign of Sidney.

A couple of broken and weathered stones I was able to figure out from being able to read one name and that name only occurring once in the cemetery list.

Also note that Margarette Boughman is NOT in this list.

There is one very large sandstone monument that is badly weathered and I can't tell whose it was. The largest monument in the cemetery.

I hope they will be able to combine those duplicates fairly soon.

RE: Boughman Pics
Larry, there are lots of other names. Unfortunately I added a bunch of them to the cemetery at High Hill. I discovered last night that there's a duplicate cemetery out there called Wallar's Cemetery (after one of the oldest burials, Samuel Wallar). Between those two, you should be able to find all the names.

I don't think I'm going to create any more memorials as yet. I requested today that these two cemeteries be merged into one. Hopefully they will save the pictures and the work I did on dates as well as all the graves you created.

Definitely Amanda and Sidney were little ones of William A. Boughman. I just wonder where Margarette is buried and if she perhaps married again since William died quite a while before her? Or maybe they buried her up there and didn't engrave the stone... I've not found her death certificate so I may be all wet.

Boughman Pics
You're welcome. I had quite a time even finding the place and without a helpful local I might not have! I spent 4 or 5 hours up there today adding all the graves I could find and taking notes and pictures. I had paper with me to do rubbings and managed to find quite a few stones for people that weren't listed before.

There is only a single Boughman monument. On one side are Jesse and Ruth, on the opposite side are the four children, without dates -- Mary, Sidney, Amanda, and Willie (who I assume is William A Jr, 1859-1870).

On the front is William A. Boughman, by himself, no sign of Margarette. I searched thoroughly and there's no trace of her. If they buried her there in 1903, then they didn't engrave the marker...

Best, Jim
