Mrs. Oakes
Stilwell Cemetery
Good afternoon Karen;

I want to let you know that I appreciate ALL the work you have been doing on the Stilwell Cemetery.

There is a slight problem though; There is already a listing for this Cemetery called "Old Stilwell Cemetery" and we are creating duplicates.

I have John B. VanBuren already in Old Stilwell, he is a grandfather of mine.

Is there some way I can help? I love the photos you have taken.
Repectfully,
Angeles Oakes

Aloha!

I just came across your photo of Milton & Altheaʻs gravestone... thank you for posting it... he was my 1st cousin twice removed. May I use the photo on my private family tree? I always give credit to the find a grave members who share their photos with me... thanks. I also created a memorial page for Althea, #180353385 (Althea Florence Young Jochem)... would you post the photo of the gravestone on her page as well? Miltonʻs memorial page is #133170448. Thanks for that, too...

Regards,
Lynda Puakea

Seward Van Ness #121232491
Hi Karen,
I have a photo of Clara Lawyer Van Ness that I'd like to post at her findagrave memorial, but I don't find one for her. I see she is shown on the headstone as the wife of Seward. Do you want to create a memorial for her - if not is it OK if I create one and use your photo?
Regards,
Bonnie

Hi Karen, I finally finished the Find A Grave Memorial for Henry E. Abell 174556021. He's the guy who founded two Schoharie Cty newspapers, among other things. Paul

Thanks
I appreciate your transferring the care of Peter's memorial. It will be good to link him to his family properly and tell some of his story. I have a poignant photo of him in uniform going off to war. He died in a prison camp just a few weeks before the end of the European war.
Still working on the Baldwins and Meeks in Summit. and I think we've been in touch about other families too.

Peter Murray #113037702
Hi,

Peter is appearing as his own brother now b/c your memorial is a cenotaph. Per Find A Grave:

What is a cenotaph? How do I have a memorial designated as a cenotaph?

A cenotaph is a marker within a cemetery placed in honor of a person whose remains are buried elsewhere. It may also be the original marker for someone who has since been reinterred elsewhere. To add a cenotaph, create a memorial. Then email edit@findagrave.com with a link to the memorial and request to have the memorial designated a cenotaph. Please only add relationship links to the actual burial memorial when both a cenotaph and actual burial exist.

Thanks again!

Hi Karen,

I added an edit for Peter's father. His mother was Ruth Anna George daughter of Andrew and Juliana Hanford George who are buried in Claryville. Ruth Anna died 24 Jan 1939 but I do not know where she is buried.

Peter also has a memorial #56658824 where he is buried at the Lorraine American Cemetery that you might want to note on yours.

Thanks for all your good work,

Carol

Karen,

I created a memorial for Alfred Goldring and connected him to his wife Maude #167652428, for whom you had created a memorial. Also one for their daughter Alfred Goldring Van Schaick #172808314.

May I use the photos you've posted to Maude's memorial for theirs?

Regards,
Bonnie

Eltons in Schoharie Co
Hi Karen,
A very big thank you for your tombstone pictures of so many of my Eltons buried in Schoharie County. I have finally gotten a good internet connection in Little Elm Texas, and am looking at catching up on
Findagrave. I am sitting here with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, astonished at seeing stones that I never thought I would see. Your hard work is much appreciated from deep in the heart of Texas, where many of my branch wound up.
Karen

Karen,
I've agreed to help my friend Susan Hayes Hatcher in South Carolina, find a contact in the Bahamas, specifically Nassau. If you can help please refer me to someone who is on site in Nassau. Susan Hayes Hatcher wants to visit the records archives in Nassau....someone she could communicate with, someone who could give her some tips, suggestions, etc. on sources, locations of information. I'd appreciate hearing back from you. Basically I'm looking for a Nassau contact, someone who you might turn to for direction, help, etc. srperhala2010@yahoo.com
