|JD Edwards||RE: Brockman Cemetery|
Thanks very much for taking the time to provide so much information. I am related by way of Agatha Cowherd Brockman marrying Thomas Tandy Edwards; so all these folks are cousins and uncles.
Is the place you describe the huge cattle farm? I pass through there frequently and believe the stones have all been moved from the church. I was looking to buy the church when it first went up for sale, but decided it was too much to fix.
I don't understand how Ellis could move the stones legally and how he could go on someone else's property and take the stones.
Seems very strange to me.
I stopped by the church one day and photographed the stones to enter into Find A Grave. Before I was able to do that I was told by Bobby Goodwin the folks were not actually buried there.
If you think it might be easier to answer all my questions you might want to call me at 703-304-0493. Thanks so much. JD

Can you provide any information on the Cemetery at Greenway, which does not exist now, and the Brockman Cemetery from which the stones were moved.

Virginia, do you know if there is a Henry Brockman 1623/1695, and Rebecca Salmon Brockman 1651/? buried in the Brockman Cemetery Monrovia, Va.?
They have a link on Ancestery to FindaGrave which takes you to that cemetery, but no memorial can be found. Thanks for your help.

There is not a Transfer, Edit, or Delete on the memorial when I pull it up because I do not maintain that memorial since I transferred it to you. If the Transfer, Edit, or Delete tabs are not showing up when you pull the memorial up, you should contact email@example.com. Maybe they can help you. Be sure to include the memorial number of the one you want to delete. They'll see your name on the Maintained By section. Hope this helps!

Didn't notice it was you who maintained the memorial until I sent the message. You should be able to delete either memorial

I don't have any control over her memorial. I transferred it to Virgonia Blossom. You'll have to contact her.

Virginia thanks for trying to locate Samuel's headstone. The information regarding his death & burial were taken from Memorial Hall, New Orleans, La., by the War Dept., Washington, D. C., June, 1903. It states:

So nice to hear from you & with such great news! I am so happy the headstones are back where they rightfully belong. I called & talked to Jean. Mr Ellis, that moved the stones, wasn't very happy. The land is going to be sold & if they weren't removed they would have been stacked somewhere. I added Luna's parents to her memorial. Hope you are doing well. Thanks again for all of your help and for the great news. =)

It was not overgrown when I was there. It was summer and the bugs were bad. Real bad. If you'll email me I can give you directions. It's not hard to get to but you will have to drive uphill a bit. I'll have to check to see who takes care of the cemetery. Are you related to the Mooneys there?
Added by Shelton M. Mooney on Mar 13, 2013 9:13 PM
Virginia, I am totally on the wrong side of the river. EADS (i just reviewed my pictures) is actually at Montgomery Heights. If you are on HWY 60 leaving Montgomery and going towards Deepwater....Montgomery Heights is before you get to Deepwater. I don't think there is any signs directing you to the Cemetery so when you see the Montgomery Heights sign, stop and ask how to get to the cemetery. It is up on the hill and unless you know the streets, it will be hard to find. Sorry for the previous information. My Aunt and Uncle are buried at Eads but the rest of the family is across the river at the Cemetery above Alloy.

It is the Allow Post Office on HWY 61 there at the allow plant (used to be Union Carbide) There is no street, just the main hwy.
Added by Betty Zwilling on Mar 13, 2013 10:26 AM
Hi, we parked by the post office and walked across the road. After you cross the road, there are some stairs that go up a hill. Go up those stairs and you will start to see grave stones. If you continue to the right (UP the hill again) Keep going and you will find more of the graves. Wear comfortable boots and certainly do it before everything starts to bloom or it will really be hard to find.

I don't have John's memorial. There are 2 memorials for him made by 2 different people. Here are the memorial numbers. They also have him in different cemeteries but his death certificate says he's in the Mount Carbon Cemetery.
67472574 (Eads Cemetery)
95072286 (Mount Carbon Cemetery)
I transferred Galean to you.
