RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 170754620
Thank you again. The information you provided is of value to my research. It's very important to understand geographical customs when conducting research. I look forward to finding more information on my family through the great work of findagrave volunteers. Gratefully yours, Cathi

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 170754620
Thank you for your super prompt correction. I am wondering if her husband Francis, who died in 1878, is buried with or next to her? Is there anyway to determine this? Would the church that this cemetery is connected with have any records and if so are they willing to give out that information? Any help is appreciated. Respectfully, Cathi Mytko

You have no idea how excited I am to see the gravestone for my gggrandmother, all the way from Ireland. My mother was an orphan, and after 45 years of searching, we are only now finding information about her Irish heritage. Thank you so much for this gift. There is one problem with your transcribing of the stone. She was 50 when she died, not 30. Easy mistake to make when logging in numerous gravesites. If you could correct this error it would be extremely appreciated. I cannot wait to see more of the Diamond/Dimond family from this cemetery. Thanks again, Cathi Mytko

Dear contributor
I can't thank you enough for the photo of the Margaret Diamond headstone in Maghera Cemetery. I believe her to be my great grandmother. Her daughter Jane left for NY in 1870 & married Edward Rogers.
Thank you again & if there is anyone in US you need researched, I would be happy to help.
Margaret U.

And also would you please transfer my Great Uncle, Leroy Charles Mulhearn, to me. That would complete my Grandmother's immediate family.
Thank you so much for all your work.

RE: Maghera Catholic Graveyard Photos
Thanks so much for the great photos. I have been able to link some of the people together and with a little more research hopefully, more of them. I do remember when you got me to sort out which cemetery was which. I notice that a Rose Bradley married a Scullion, so maybe we are distance relations. My cousin Peter Scullion, who lives in the area, is working on the family from the Northern Ireland end so I will pass this along to him if he hasn't already seen it.

I would love it if you added photos to the Scullion burials in St. Mary's. My paternal grandfather was Charles Henry Scullion (Scully) who emigrated from Bellaghy to Lowell, Massachusetts, USA. Are you related to the Scullions in County Derry? Thanks. Tom Scully

Hi I am trying to dig up some information on my gg grandmother and I keep hitting walls big big walls
perhaps you might be able to help

I suspect she may have been catholic and may have hailed from dunloy maghers or magherafelt but am not certain

She was born circa 1825 married a Waid/Wade from cloughmills and died 1899

I think I might dance if I could get some concrete help for her

Thank you for any help you may give and for your time
Elaine

I was just thinking about the pictures again and I am quite curious as to the other 3 in the group. I don't know if again if you still have the photos but if you do I was wondering if you could email them to me? I would like any and all of the cemetery/church and gravesites just for personal use of course. I'd like to show them to other family members. I saw the 2 of the church you posted which are amazing I have always wanted to make that trip myself! Anyway my email address is. Ghs711@gmail.com Thanks again it was so good of you to go to take the pictures!
Thanks, Gina

RE: Photo Request

Sorry it took me so long to reply to your message, for some reason I totally missed it. Thank you so much for taking those photos, I didn't think I would ever get those! I really do appreciate you taking the time to do that! I hope you still have the photos though I would understand if you didn't, but yes please post anything you have for both gravesites even though the inscription is unreadable or no stone at all all I would love to see it and any surroundings.
Thank you again so so much!
Gina

Hi - I have created the Maghera Catholic Graveyard and moved all my records, but there are 3 records created by somebody else that need to be moved

I think creating a new graveyard for St. Patrick's is the easier way to handle this. Changing my memorials isn't that hard. I just want to be sure there isn't already a St. Patrick's graveyard under some name we haven't found.

RE: Maghera Churchyard
The white church that appears on the Irish Graveyard "Old Maghera Graveyard" site is St. Patricks, 159 Glen Rd., Maghera. The same site lists only 2 cemeteries in Maghera that the site had surveyed, Old and New Graveyards. So to fix this it seems
1) There needs to be a new cemetery created for St. Patrick's, unless you know of one under another name.
2) Irish Graveyards should change the name on their Old Maghera Graveyard site. And remove the picture of St. Patrick's.
3) My ancestors were Roman Catholic as far as I know and the old and new St. Lurachs were Church of Ireland, i.e. Anglican. No Catholic in Northern Ireland would ever be buried in an Anglican cemetery.
So how do we get this fixed. I'd be glad to create the cemetery for St. Patrick's if you want.

Hi, thanks for your message. It appears that the Scullions may indeed be in the wrong graveyard. I'm still trying to figure this out. My ancestors are Scullions from County Derry, but I live near Boston. I'll try to resolve this by early Monday and let you know.

Absolutely logical. I have found many errors on death certificates, even surnames of parents. Thank you so much for replying and thank you for all your hard work in maintaining FindaGrave pages. I will change my records.
